So I've been searching for the perfect jean jacket for 2 years with no luck. My idea of perfect - a darker wash and length that hits at the hip and fitted throughout.
I ordered the Banana one which looks dark online. It was the perfect length but a really light wash. I ordered the Gap one I posted and they've got something screwed up on the style number and keep sending me a jacket that's more of a cropped length - which I hate! So I thought I'd found the perfect jacket and a great deal and won this off E-bay.
It's so cute in person and I got a pretty good deal on it. It's lighter then shown but not too light. But considering I'm longer in the torso - it's too short too!! So I have to relist on E-bay. Why is this soooooo hard????????????
I've been on the hunt for the perfect jean jacket for years, and I finally found it:
I assume this is the one you ordered and think is too light? How important is the wash to you? I actually really like the color of this one and it fits me PERFECT!!
Other than that, I'd stay away from Gaps - they are always wayyy too boxy and short on me.
I got one at Forever21 a couple of years ago - I also have a long torso (I think our builds are pretty much identical actually judging from your TS posts, though I think you're taller ). Mine hits just under my hip bones, is very dark and slim - has some stretch to it also, so the slim cut doesn't feel too restricting. Maybe you could check there?

I feel your pain - I was on that search for the longest time, until last year actually. I got mine at JCrew. The wash is dark, it hits kind of at the middle of my hip, it's great. I don't see it on their site, but you might have luck w/ ebay.
Also, maybe a store like A&F or Hollister would have something that fits the way you want?
You sound like a good candidate for the Sass & Bide Funky Thompson jacket. This is LONG...too long and silly looking on me, but it would probably hit you at the hips.
This one is only $37 US (the seller's in Australia)...it's a AU 8/US 2. I think you would be more comfortable in an AU 10/US4 though.
