Is this a bad outfit idea?
Permalink Closed

So the fug girls ripped Lisa Loeb for this one.

I'm really drawn to it for myself, though. I kind of want to try the look with some black sweaters and leotards. Is it really a bad look that should never be attempted?

For whatever reason, I feel really naked in this dress and since I hate my flabby upper arms, I cherish the opportunity to cover them. I'd probably wear the dress exactly the way Lis is wering hers (black sweater and black boots with textured tights)

Thoughts?

(on a side note, she was my girl back in the day...I still adore her. How can you not love someone who does this with an album cover?)

Hello Lisa

My roommate wore a similar outfit today and looked totally hot. It was like this...

She got tons of compliments and I think your idea would look great. The Fug girls can be too conservative.

I think it's a cute concept that Lisa Loeb doesn't pull off that well.  I think her outfit is weird because her dress isn't a casual dress, so her outfit just seems a little....strange.  I love the dress that Maddie posted--I think that would look really cute.

By the way, I can't see your second pic, so I'm not sure what your dress looks like.

Sorry to hijack, but what is her new show?  She had a show on the Food Network awhile ago with her bf, Dweezil Zappa, and I swear they were the most boring people on earth, which surprised me.  I would have thought they would have been more interesting.

Hijack over.

I think it'll be really cute with your dress! It doesn't work with hers because of the fabric, but overall I really like the look. I think I've seen cute pictures of Kirsten Dunst pulling it off nicely too.

Apparently she's not with dweezil anymore - since her show is called Single? And I'm with you - I would have thought they were interesting too.

Sorry lilykind to hijack your thread!

I think you can rock it very well, when I saw  her dress my first thought was you.

I have absolutely no idea who she is but I don't really like Lisa Loeb's outfit. I agree that it's because of that particular dress and I think you could definitely pull off that look.

My first thought was that you could always pair your dress, which is beautiful btw, with a cute cardi to cover your arms. That's what I usually do when I feel too exposed.

I agree that you could pull it off.  My thought though would maybe be to do some textured tights that are a little more sheer - I think part of Lisa Loeb's outfit problem (aside from the dress being a little fancy) is that she looks really covered up.  IMO letting a little skin peek through w/ the tights and maybe some shoes instead of boots might be a little more balanced.

I don't think everyone can pull it off, but I'm sure you can.

I don't think it looks too bad on Lisa Loeb. If the dress was a little less poufy, then it would look better.

You can totally pull that look off though Lilykind. I also think that dress you posted would be perfect for it. Please post a picture in TS when you get the chance.
