and please help me. my waist is ridiculously short. i realized this when i was trying on some jeans today. they barely hit my pelvic bone, and it wasn't a size issue (the next size up i could pull off without unbuttoning).

i would like to find some jeans that i can wear with a regular length shirt, and not have to worry about flashing the world. any suggestions?

btw, you have a fabulous figure, we just need to find the jeans that show that off.

i am somewhat shortwaisted (long legs, shorter torso) and i always have good luck with seven jeans--i think they fit the best of any.  there was one that they made for a while (and probably still do) that was called boy-fit or something like that.  i don't own any of that style, but i think they were supposed to be cut a little higher in the waist, to prevent gapping in the back.  let me see if i can find them for you.

I know totally what you mean!  I've tried on jeans that don't even clear the butt.  I hate jean shopping, the only kind I've found were old-school Express ones before they decided ultra-low was the best thing ever.  I can't help you...but I'm relieved it wasn't just me!

Have you tried James Jeans. I have had some luck with them. My older pairs seem higher, but dont know if it a difference is styles or they are getting lower.

Have you tried Joe's Jeans in the Muse style? I know they've been dotting the sale racks at Anthro. They're really good for curvy figures, but on me they rise was too high so they came right up to my belly buttom and I don't think they're supposed to do that. I bet they would look good on you though!

turtledove...I've had some pairs not clear butt, like every single pair from sass & bide. It's so wrong. I don't even understand...I went to an amusement park and was in line behind this really cute curvy Aussie girl wearing sass & bide jeans that looked super-awesome on her.

one other idea--i don't know how you feel about j.crew's jeans, but i just got a pair a few months ago and the rise is pretty high.  they are almost but not quite too high on me, so they might be perfect for you--i think the style is called "favorite fit."

Sorry, no suggestions but I just wanted to chime in that I feel your pain!  Short waisted + booty + long legs = painful jean shopping for me!  I'm happy to see all the suggestions, I'm in serious need of new jeans.

thanks for all the input.  the main issue isn't even the rise in the back, it's the rise in the front. lately all the jeans i've tried on have been way too low, and there are certain things better left to the imagination.

bumblebee -- i'm going to try j.crew jeans and sevens again. in the past i haven't had too much luck, but maybe things will be different this time.

esquiress -- i have some pairs of coh jeans, they're definitely better in the front, but i've never really loved the way they make my thighs look.

deuce -- i have a couple of pairs of james jeans that i like but i think i might've od'ed on them. i have 3 pairs already, but then again, i shouldn't really complain if i find something i like.

turtledove-- i know the feeling...i have totally tried on jeans & half my butt is hanging out, so not cute. i'll also look at express. i haven't worn a pair since college, but i remember really liking the ones i had, and wearing them to death. my mom threw them out b/c she was sick of seeing me in them.

lilykind -- i'm so/so on joe's. i really liked the cigarette jeans, but they are so low. i've tried another style before, can't remember which one, but they didn't work too well on me, since they have a nipped waist, and i have not waist so to speak.

avery -- if i come across the elusive magic jean, i will definitely post about it.

Same here!  Glad to know that I'm not alone.  Sometimes I'll go to the mall and try on practically every pair in the place and not find a single one that fits.  I was beginning to think I was a freak....

i feel your pain!  frankie b's and true religion jeans will never be for me. ever.

i second lilykind on the joe's jeans in the muse, as well as the socialite (a lower rise than the muse).  i've also had luck with saltworks in mulberry street (which has a narrower leg), and chip pepper in sorority girl and the olivia.  i've heard that paige jeans in hollywood hills have a slightly higher rise in the front/back.
