hahaha this thread cracks me up. cats crack me up in general.

i definitely agree with playing with your cat right before bed helps but doesn't always work. try also getting a toy like kitty-go-krazy that goes off automatically when the cat touches it.. that way it plays with it in her time... not your zzzzzzzzz time! also another thing that helps, at least for me, is trying to move the feeding schedule so they eat at night. that usually puts them to sleepy mode.

good idea. The only time we ever use it is when my husband is playing mad at me, he threatens to put it on me while I sleep. He has followed through twice. I hated him both times......

FWIW, we just sprinkle some loose catnip on the carpet.  He rolls around, freaks out, rubs himself in it for awhile, and then skitters off all high .  He seems to like that better than us putting it on his scratching post or anything, because he can really 'get in there'.

squirt bottle!!!! My cats know just from the slosh of the water when I pick it up and straighten out pretty quickly.
