Need help decorating girls bedroom...
Permalink Closed

My 2 little girls are going to share a bedroom soon, so we can make one of the bedrooms into a playroom.  I'm going for a Shabby Chic look in their room.  This is the bedroom set we're ordering today.  Any decorating tips to acheive a shabby look?  The girls are young (2 and 5).

i'm sure you know this, but target does have the shabby chic line there with some more affordable prices .. also, what else are you looking to do?  shabby chic incorporates alot of crafty stuff but i'm not sure if that's what you really want in a room with two such young girls -

i bet itsapinkthing would have some great ideas - her nursery is ADORABLE!

I went for the shabby chic look in our daughter's nursery. You can find a lot distrissed accessories at antique stores & thrift shops.  You can also add a white beaded chandelier, I went to these sites for inspiration:

I also found a lot of stuff on Craigslists that I shabby chic'd myself.

I agree you want to look for hand painted and distressed accent pieces. For bedding PB kids actually has some cute things. I'd look for bedding that looks hand-pieced and quilted, consider mixing fabrics and textures, it makes the room look more vintage-y:

Stenciling around doorways and windows can add a cute touch too:

Also I agree with BarginQueens idea of a chandelier, but since you are doing bunk beds each girl may want her own source of lighting. Something like this might be cute:

Target also has a big Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic line.  Very cute and the prices are good too!
