I want a fun, colorful bag for spring. something that will pop against an all white outfit without looking to harsh (so no reds or anything like that). All I've seen recently are neutrals though. I'm willing to spend around $250 or so on something that's good quality and not too trendy. Seen anything?


edit: to get you started, I really like this one but would rather not have something from Banana (I hate feeling like everyone knows where my stuff is from the second they see it)

Just to clarify, do you want something with a multi-color pattern/design, or just a solid-colored bag?

most likely a solid color. something relatively classic. There are some cole haan ones that look decent, but I'm not in love with them.

Not sure if this is your style, but I saw this Furla ($213) on bluefly yesterday.



They also had it in a really pretty coral color, but looks like it already sold. But you never know it could always find its way back on the site!

All the bags posted are so cute- I'm ready for Spring!

I know you were primarily looking for a solid, but if you decide to go for a print, I wanted to suggest an Orla Kiely bag. I have a couple of her bags and I've had them for years and they hold up wonderfully. They're also really different (I'm always getting stopped when I carry her bags). I've also found her prints go with almost anything. A lot of her stuff is on sale on her web site right now (the prices are in pounds, but they seem to be about the $200 mark). Here's a couple of Spring bags:





I know a bunch of other bags should be coming out soon when she releases her spring line. Some of her older stuff also shows up on ebay a lot!

i also really like orla kiely stuff. i have a couple of pieces from her and they hold up really well. plus the prints and styles are really unique, and since they're kind of hard to find you don't have to worry about tons of people having the same bag as you. www.flight001.com and www.80spurple.com also carry them, though they don't have much in stock right now.

I'm not sure but I think that exact bag is felted wool and so probably not laminated. Garnet Hill sells them in brown and paprika (a really pretty shade of red) but for $298.


I have an Orla Kiely bag that I got at a sample sale for $60 last summer and I love it. It's a great bag for spring and summer.

Hedvig, you're right! I didn't look closely enough and that does appear to be wool. I know that style was at one time available in the canvas and similar styles were available in the laminate. Not to hijack, but which sample sale did you get such a fab deal at?

Now, back on topic. I found this adorable Moschino bag on ebay- it's currently at $120, with no bids!

It was the Showroom Seven sample sale in May. It was actually the first time I bought something at a sample sale so I was pretty excited about the great deal.

Womens Handbag


when i was in florida last week I saw this bag at the Fossil store, it comes in a tealish blue color and it is gorgeous IRL.  I am mad I didn't buy it down there.
