i got a sweater at filenes this weekend that looks sort of like this one.  its cashmere and made by 7 for all mankind.  it was on sale for $50.  i need more plain sweaters to wear to work but im concerned this isn't as dressy as it should be (i work for a law firm)  do i want to keep it?

i would keep it.  you could totaly dress it up if you wanted to.  it just depends on what you wear with it.  it would look great with a striped collared shirt and some long neclaces.  and with some matching heels.

AS IF - you always need a $50 cashmere sweater. I love that color. And I agree with Tashina - you could dress it up if you wanted to. I think it's perfect for a conservative work environment.

Love it and definately think it will work in a professional work environment.  I'm seeing it with a gray pinstripe pencil skirt, heels and pearls.
