Thanks girls!  I actually think I have several flowy and/or stretchy tops now that should work for awhile at least.  I am going to keep my eye out for basics at good prices for this summer.  I'm going to wait until I know how far along I am (although I think I'm about 3-4 weeks) to really start buying anything.  Oh, and I'm sure my gaucho pants will become my new best friend, hehe.

Oh, and Karina, I'm set with the vitamins and folic acid supplements, been taking them for a couple years now just in case, but definately since we've been trying.

I'm so excited.  I can't wait to start showing

Are we talking 3-4 weeks gestational age already!?

TEA:  Feel free not to encourage my being so nosy.  Sorry!

Hehe, I have no idea what that means   But I think I either got pregnant right before Christmas, like December 16-18 or right after Christmas, Dec 27-28.  And I don't mind you being nosy

Well, the way pregancies are dated, if you have regular 28 day cycles you'd be considered 4 wks pregnant around the time you'd miss a period.  Stupid, because that basically means that we're all walking around pregnant as far as the docs office is concerned , but that's the way they do it because if you're not charting there's really no way to know when you ovulated so going from your last period is more accurate in that case.

So you get to count the weeks starting from the first day of your last period - how many weeks does that make you?

That's the million dollar question.  The main reason I went to the dr in the first place is because I've had spotting/bleeding for a couple weeks.  There was a couple days in the middle where I wasn't bleeding, so we're not sure if that was a normal cycle before that or not?  If it wasn't a cycle and was in fact spotting/bleeding then I guess we would count from my November cycle (Nov 20th), but the dr doesn't think I'm that far along.  We shall soon know

Oof, that does make things a bit complicated, doesn't it?  Hmmm, November would make you like 8 wks and some change?  Stranger things have happened, and you'll know soon enough I guess!  Also, I very much admire your zen-like state in the middle of all of this, because I would have been peeing on any stick I could get my hands on for weeks by now .

Seriously, will be on the edge of my seat for an update!

Thanks, I'm trying very hard to be calm and patient, in spite of me being very much a type A personality   Oh, and I've peed on 3 sticks, hehe.  Two before we left for Ohio for Christmas and one last Friday, all three came back negative.  I used the Walmart equate brand, maybe they just suck?!?

I am going tomorrow around 11 to get more bloodwork and they call me with the results that afternoon and I will update you all

Equate is actually a really sensitive test - detects just 25 mIU/ml, which is actually more sensitive than most pee-tests they use at the doc's office!

Then again, some people never register positive on any pee-stick, and go on to have perfectly healthy and uneventful pregnancies, too.  But your previous negs could also be totally justified if you are only 4.5 wks or so, since even as late as last Friday might have still been too early to detect .....

<~~~ me, waiting quietly now

Congrats! When I was pregnant I didn't want to spend too much money on preggo clothes, so I just bought basics. I think a pair of pregnancy jeans, black pants, a skirt and shorts for summer, a few flowy tops and a dress or two should be good. You'll love the dresses when you hit that last trimester and have to pee every five minutes.

The mistake that I made was that I didn't buy enough transitional clothes to fit me before I popped and to use after I gave birth. For some reason I had it in my brain that I would be able to fit in my prepregnancy clothes 2 months after birth. If you're planning on breastfeeding, you'll retain that last 5-10 pounds so those late 1st/early 2nd trimester clothes really come in handy.

Congratulations again and you'll make such a cute preggo judging by your cute theadstyle pics!
