I thought most people looked really nice last night.  Johnny Depp is hott and I'm glad he dressed well (finally!) last night.


Ellen Pompeo just didn't look good.  Her dress wasn't doing it for me and her hair looked like a mess-it's an awkward length and it looked like she washed it, dried it with a towel and left. 


Did anyone see Drew Barrymore?!?!?!  I thought she looked awful!  Someone needs to tell her about these new things they have now--they're called bras and they do wonderful things for ladies whose boobs are heading south.  Plus her nipples were totally visible and it was so bad that the cameraman had to zoom in on her face to cut her boobs out of the pic.  It was pretty funny to watch, actually.

OMG that was hilarious!  The second she got up there I was like "Hello nipples!!"  She definitely could have used a bra or at the very least nipple covers!!  Don't they test their dresses out in the light to see this kind of thing?  I know I would!

Not a fan of Sandra Oh's dress. I loved what she wore last year - it accentuated her TDF figure much more.

I have to agree with the comment about Michelle Williams' posture - stand up straight, for heaven's sake! She looks awful, IMO. And that dress is doing nothing for her.

Marcia cross looks like a replay of Charlize Theron at the Oscars a few years ago (but not as well done) and J.Lo at some event (possibly the Oscars as well) more recently. I like the color of the dress on her but hate the oversized sparklies at the shoulders.

Eva's pose here reminds me of the girls you see at auto shows. Yech!



Teri Hatcher's dress reminds me of the one Marilyn Monroe wore to an awards ceremony. But I like the dress on Teri, though I agree she's so gaunt she does look like Skeletor. And while I'm carping, I think having her hair cut about six inches would make her look younger and healthier.

Keira, Jessica Alba, Charlize, Evangeline, Kate Beckinsale, Zhiyi Zang (though I hate the color of her dress), and Scarlett all look AMAZING.

I think Hillary Swank looks tired (maybe sad because of the divorce) but her back is jaw-dropping. That girl is all muscle!

I have yet to see Alanis in a flattering outfit - girl really needs to get a stylist. And Mariah Carey will *always* think she's 22 and should be showing T *and* A. At least in this dress the A is covered, but it's not doing much for her T's when they're spilling out the sides like that. The whole silhouette is icky.

And even after what seems like twenty years (has it really been that long since Jump Street?!), JD still gets my heart racing:



Though Vanessa Paradis often destroys the stereotype that French girls are so stylish. She always looks messy!

Esp if she's pregnant...shouldn't she be glowing? She looks so gruesome to me - deathly white pallor and the eyes are just overdone.

Could Kevin Bacon get a real haircut? And are those implant scars on Kyra's right breast? She looks good in that dress, though.



I haven't actually watched the Globes yet (it's TiVo'ed though) but I always love to see the outfits - good and bad - and hear the speeches!

Mariah Carey just gives me the creeps, I agree that she thinks she is 22.


Eva Longoria needs to STOP with the hair extensions.

Yes -  I did see Drew Barrymore's breasts.  That dress was totally see-thru.  I wasn't sure at first if I was seeing correctly. Then they changed the angle of the camera and realized I was seeing  correctly. 


Joaquin Phoenix looked petrified when he won.  He looked like he was either on something or beyond nervous.  I think he was nervous because he looked as if he was shaking a little bit. 


Did anyone see Johnny Depp's wife - sorry don't know her name- on the Red Carpet with E!?  Her front teeth looked black or something.  Did anyone see that?

I loved what Keira Knightley, Natalie Portman, and Jessica Alba wore. MY BF said Natalie "looked like a dude" (actually, he is sitting here while I type this) but I think she looked gorgeous.

See, I actually don't think Scarlett Johansen looked that great.  Her makeup and dress were amazing, but her hair at that length does nothing for me. 


SJP looked great as always, but I felt like her dress and her whole look were a little too boring for her. 


Gwenyth looked totally amazing.  They kept cutting to her face and she just looked stunning.


I totally agree that Rachel Weisz needs a new makeup artist.  She is so gorgeous (she has the same quality that Audrey Tatou has to me) and while her dress looked great, she had too much eye makeup going on.


 


Slightly off topic, but did anyone see Geena Davis's acceptance speech last night???  She had me laughing so hard I was crying.  Same with Steve Carrell.  So. Freaking. Funny.  I love the Golden Globes because they all seem to let down their hair and have a good time.

CC - I don't think they're married, but they've been together for a few years and have a baby.



Ann Hathaway looked dead to the world!  Unflattering dress, super pale, gaudy makeup, flat hair ...


Atlgirl - Those look like regular run of the mill stretch marks on Kyra Sedgwick to me


I thought both Mariah Carey and Eva Longoria looked like tramps!  I'm sooo tired of them!


I think Joaquin Phoenix was drunk - apparently he's gotten a little carried away with his 'method acting' due to Walk The Line ....


I think overall it was a pretty good show fashion-wise.  There was a lot of variety, and only a few tragic ensembles
