Forgive me if this has been brought up before, but I just saw it last night and thought it was wonderful.  Really really amazing. 


I really liked how Spielberg dealt with the subject--he definitely showed that there were two sides to the issue and that coming to peace isn't going to be easy, if it's even possible.  My husband and I left the movie kinda feeling like there wasn't a real conclusion and we weren't really sure what Spielberg wanted us to think, but I think that's actually the beauty of the movie.  Unlike "Schindler's List" where there was such a clear cut difference between right and wrong, good and evil, the Arab/Israeli conflict is so complicated and both sides have really legitimate points.  Plus, the issue of "home" just really resonated with me and I really felt like I "got it" then.


Also, despite the fact that the movie was 2 hours and 40 minutes, I never felt like it dragged at all, which is a difficult feat, I think.


Anyway, anyone else see it?  Any thoughts?

we went this past weekend to see it.


unfortunately, i don't know much about the whole Arab/Israeli conflict and spent most of the movie trying to figure out what was going on and who was who and why they were spending so much time trying to get even (an eye for an eye is what it seemed like to me)...


i imagine that if the BF would have told me that this is what we were going to see, I would have read some articles on it so that i would have been better prepared to understand it.


so, i guess i can't comment on whether or not i liked it b/c i feel like if i would have known more, i would have liked it better.


it did, however, give me nightmares that night that someone was coming into our house to murder me!!!!
