hah, damned dog. doesn't he know better than to stay away from a woman's shoes? is thunder still a puppy? or was he mad at you for something? when my parents dog was a puppy (and us daughters were all still at home) the puppy had a thing about dirty underwear and tampons/pads. lucky didn't chew anything else, but she did love the smell of human females. my mom had to continually buy us new underwear because all of ours evantually had holes in the crotch. and yum, all those bloody pads and tampons strewn all over the bathroom flor, lovely. it was confusing, cause lucky is a girl so we couldn't figure out why she was going after things with other girls smell on them.

Some dogs never grow out of chewing things. Our old dog when I was a kid loved to chew- anything but dog toys! We gave that dog so many toys it was like he had his own personal pet store but what did he chew instead? Socks, underwear, jeans, towels, bedding, backpacks, jackets, laundry baskets, his dog bed...I could go on and on. I can't even calculate the value of all the things that he chewed up in his lifetime. And nothing would deter him- we tried those nasty tasting potions, obidience training, spankings: nothing ever worked.

He lived to be almost 15 years old and never stopped chewing (it became part of his charm, I loved that dog so much). I hope you fare better with Thunder than we did.

oh no! Several of my shoes have fallen victim to my dogs. Thunder probably isn't used to being inside and around shoes. It will get better, though!

That sucks, kaykay! My dog used to have a thing for heels. She ate one of each of every. single. pair. of my mom's heels a few years ago. But she never ate the matching shoe to one she'd already gone after.  Go figure . Too bad nobody caught her before she got to them all (my mom didn't wear shoes from that closet very often). Thunder will get used how things work being inside all the time, don't worry. Just hide the shoes until then
