I have three weddings (at least) to go to this spring/summer. The first one is my second cousin's wedding in Memphis in March and it's going to be one of those "society" kind of weddings. The second wedding is in May in the DC/Maryland area and I'm not sure about the details there. The third wedding is an outdoor wedding at a resort in Jamaica in June. I'd like to get a dress that can work for all three. Would this dress work, or do you ladies think I'd be better off getting a LBD that I could accessorize differently?
cute- but if you're going to wear it to three diff. things and then possibly again and again- i'd get a LBD or a dress in a more simple shape but in that color if you'd like. i think you'd tire of the ruffle and then people would recognize that dress if they go to another wedding with you there.
I might be worried about being too hot and sweaty in that fabric. Memphis might still get warm in March, and you'll certainly get hot dancing. Jamaica in June will be hot, definitely! The dress is cute, though! I'd be worried about messy me dripping on it or ripping the chiffon.
I think the dress is beautiful and I love the color. If you aren't seeing the same people at all three weddings, I can't imagine that you'd have any problems. And IMO that's a dress you could wear to other events as well. I like the idea of your not doing an LBD to weddings...it's nice to stand out from the crowd.

i think the dress's color is wonderful, but might get too hot in jamaica. like everybody else, im curious to know if there will be mixing of guests between the weddings. and i just don't know if you can wear the same dress at a "society" wedding as at a wedding in jamaica at a resort. they possibly could be two different ends of the spectrum.
here are some others that i found:

Yeah, I'm not too worried about people seeing me in the same dress--one's a family wedding, one is a good friend from college, and the other is another good friend from college, but there may be only 1 or 2 friends that would overlap weddings those two weddings, if that.
I'm concerned about the heat too. I have no idea what on earth I can wear that will be comfortable in Jamaica in June. At least I'm not the bride though--my friend that's getting married is wearing a full on satin gown--she's crazy.
The dress is lovely, and I don't think it would be too hot for Jamaica. The only thing I would be worried about is if the 'society' wedding would call for a longer dress.
You might need some kind of wrap for the March and May weddings, if they go into the evening.
