So I saw this necklace I really liked but it was only available in yellow gold, so I asked this online jeweler (a very nice lady who makes her own jewelry and sells online) if she could custom make a necklace just like it but in white gold.  She agreed she could, I paid her, and I just received the necklace...and it's nothing like I expected at all.  It doesn't really look like the necklace I had requested and it's not a style I particularly like.  She's a great lady and I've purchased wonderful things from her before but...I'm just really disappointed with this necklace (I was so excited!).  I dunno what to do..she obviously spent a lot of time on this necklace but...I'd also like to be happy with something I spent money for.  What do I do that won't ruin the relationship cause I'd like to continue being a customer?

Well, if you don't like it, tell her so.  If I were the jeweler, I'd prefer you say you didn't like it and worked something else out instead of not saying anything and being hesistant about future purchases.

what is the main differences?  Like, if it wasn't what you were expecting because the white gold didn't look as good as you'd thought it would- i'd chalk it up to oh well.  If she didn't give you what you asked for, see if she can rework it.  if she's a nice honest lady- she should do that for you.  is the whole thing wrong?

The necklace just really doesn't look like the necklace I asked her to base it off of.  The quality is great.  The design itself is what I'm disappointed in.

I agree with Cortney1982; maybe she just misunderstood you and based it off of a different necklace.  If it's still pretty (just not your taste), then I'm sure she could still make money by selling it off her website... surely someone else will like it.
