$25K on grass for your front yard???  I mean grass would be a nice change, but not that nice of one.   It would look awesome that's for sure!!

i'd go skiing in colorado, finally visit the west coast- go to europe again, go to hawaii if i'm feeling ambitious- shopping a lot in europe.  I'd probably put away like $15,000 of it.

Not just the front, the back too, which is pretty big.  And I'd want sod, which would mean a sprinkler system.  And then flowerbeds made with retaining blocks in the front.  A line of tall pointy tree shrub things (not sure what they are, but I know them when I see them) along the right side of the house.  And a privacy fence.  And a patio.  All of this would easily be $25k+, which is why we haven't done anything yet

I'd invest it.  Maybe I'd keep a grand or two in my rainy day fund.

  • Blow it on the investment items (boots, hot shoes, bags, winter coat) I'll own forever ($5k)

  • Savings ($11k)

Buy a new couch and put in hardwood floors in my condo.  Save the rest!

I would pay off my car, get a new computer and put the rest in savings. I'd also tithe on it which would help my church's mortgage!

use it toward selling my current house and buying or building a new bigger house with a better floor plan, better neighborhood, better school district and that I would be happy to stay in for life.

and if I already lived in my perfect home when this inheritance came in?  it would go straight into conservative investments.

In all honesty, $20,000 would probably go to a downpayment for a house.  With the other $5,000 I would probably replace my used car with another used car and let's be honest...go on a mini-shopping spree for myself and my son.

Hmmm...notice I didn't say interest bearing savings????  ;)

I would use it to pay off some of my school loans so I wouldn't have to pay $500 a month for the next 25 years.  Sometimes I wonder if going to school was really worth it!
