Update on BQ's drama

ETA: Oops, here's the original thread where I put my post for those of you who weren't aware of my drama: http://stylethread.activeboard.com/index.spark?forumID=44784&subForumID=102179&action=viewTopic&commentID=5391584&topicPage=

So yesterday after no one from the Sheriff's station was giving me any information whatsoever, I decided to take matters into my own hands and find out the he** my husband was.

I went online and checked the LA County Inmate database and found him, he had been sentenced to 5 days.  Where?  a MAXIMUM Security prison in Downtown LA, because the correctional facilities were full to capacity! OMG I almost died, I went to my mom's house hoping he had called there.  I guess when you're in jail you can only able to make collect calls to land lines and since we only have cell phones, he wouldn't be able to call me anywhere but my parent's house.

I get to my parents house and they're in a frenzy.  My 9 year old sister had answered the phone and didn't know what a collect call was and she HUNG UP!  My husband tried calling back and my dad didn't answer "I accept" on time and the call was dropped!  Uggggghhhh!

Fast forward to midnight, my parents are banging on my door and my mom storms in yelling that my husband has been released and needs me to pick him up.

We pick him up poor thing, still wearing the same clothes from Saturday night and as you may imagine, freaked. the. hell. out.  He talked for hours on how horrible that place is and NEVER EVER wants to see that place again.

He decided to take the rest of the week off from work and stay home to restore his sanity and feel human again.

Y'all must have been praying/thinking of me, everything turned around for the better within hours.  Thanks!  I  ST!

Whew!  I'm so glad to hear he's home safe and sound!  What a horrible experience for you all.  I can't believe they put him in a maximum security prison!  Geez, your whole experience makes me so angry that the police can get away with doing that!

Well, I'm glad he's home now.  You must be so relieved.

That just DOES NOT SOUND RIGHT!!!!  Can't you contact like the "boss" at the police dept. where he was or like your town mayor to ask about this?  I mean, what if it had been you???  Guys can handle a lot more then girls, what if you were thrown in Max. sec. prison for a ticket???  I would DIE!!!  You shoud say something to someone.

But aside from that, I am sure you are just happy to have him home and safe!!  I am so sorry you had to go through that!!

My sentiments exactly. What a load of bullshit! I'm glad he's home but geez! It's no wonder people hate cops...

Oh. My. God! I feel so horrible for you and your husband... how terrible. I got all fired up reading about your drama-- a maximum security prison?!?! I think that is unacceptable. Actually, I think everything you told us about the situation is unacceptable. I'm so sorry he had to go through that (and you, as well). Poor guy, I can only imagine how freaked out he must have been/is. Glad he's finally back home and you can relax!

Thanks everyone, he was at apparently 2 local sheriff's stations from Sat - Mon.  After his court appearance on Tuesday he was officially booked as an inmate at the maximum security prison.  So from about noon to midnight, he was at there, but still, he is still very shook up about the whole experience.

Gawd, what a mess! I am glad he's home and that nothing happened to him in jail. What a start to the new year! :(

OMG! This is over a traffic ticket? Does he have a lawyer -- if so, what did the lawyer say about the prison thing? That is awful!

It was a traffic ticket he got when he was 18-19 about 5-6 years ago and apparently never took care of it.  This is before we got married and he was still living at his mom's.  Since then, we got engaged moved together, got married, had a baby, moved 2 more times, so whatever correspondence he got at his mom's house, he never physically got it.  So this could have been an issue of lost mail, or his brothers not giving him his mail, or his mom thinking it was junk mail & tossing it.  Weird thing is he was able to renew his license when he turned 22 so the warrant probably wasn't issued til after that.  I'm sure the DMV would have denied him a new license.  We're just glad everything is over and settled.  He actually saw a lot of the corruption in the police officers in the prison, even smuggling things to inmates.  He's pretty beat up right now, so I don't know if contacting  a lawyer is the route he wants to take now, he's just relieved everything is over now.  He did go to the DMV today just to make sure there's nothing else surprising on his record.
