Halleybird & Lilykind - I looked at the Stila Illuminating Powder/Foundation and I have a couple questions..I normally wear just regular pressed powder..it's not a foundation powder..what's this one like?  Does it go on like foundation and dry like powder?  If so, I don't think I'd like it...

Also do you guys or anyone use the Stila Sheer Pressed Powder?

Sheer Pressed Powder

I'm wondering how this one is?

I used MAC Studio Fix and HATED it...it broke me out so badly that I wanted to cry.

Really? I use it every single day as my foundation (no liquid, just this powder) and I haven't had any problems with it really. And I should say that I had lots of problems with breaking out before and my skin is clear now, maybe with the odd breakout. I LOVE this powder, (and MAC foundations/powders in general) because I am so fair that even the lightest shade of powder at many counters doesn't work for me... or the tones aren't right at all. But MAC as so many shades that this powder matches perfectly!

I used it by itself and in conuunction with MAC Select SPF liquid foundation. Both ways my skin would burn and burn and break out. I was on harsh acne meds at the time. Weirdly enough, the MAC foundation colors are horrific on me. I think it's because I'm Asian and have a really yellow/golden based complexion. Plus I think that the MAs at the MAC counter in Los Angeles, go "oh look she's Asian she MUST be an NC35!"

shopchicago33: The Stila IPF is definitely more a powder than a foundation. I use it like most people use pressed powder (to set concealer/foundation).

no, it goes on like regular powder. I think it wears like regular powder, too, but I use the philosophy stuff underneath to make it last. I like it because it evens out my skin tone without making it look all powdery. I think a lot of powders look like they're sitting on top of the face, and this one doesn't IMO. I wouldn't call it heavy coverage at all -- it won't cover blemishes on its own, for instance. But it does even out my skin tone, and I feel like a lot of powders are too sheer for that. It has SPF, too.

Oh, and I've never tried the sheer pressed powder, but it got great reviews on makeupalley here

Thanks Lilykind & Halleybird! I think I'll just go to Sephora and check it out.  If it's more of a powder than foundation, then I think I may like it.

HB - what Philosophy stuff do you use underneath?
