eyebrow help, please

i use the clinique brow powder in taupe. but i have also heard good things abt benefit's brow powder as well.

I just use a mac eyeshadow and an angle brush. I havent had any problems, and I am super sensetive. I actually get a lot of compliments on my eyebrows, of all things.

I was also reading some review about the MAC eyebrow pencil. Has anyone tried that?

I use this too, but are sure that this problem is due to the product you are using? Maybe it's stress-related or something? It doesn't sound like something that would happen because of a product that you used... but that's just what it sounds like to me.

MissCallie, I think you're right. I think I scrub around the area too hard to get the pigment completely off, so maybe they get yanked out?

there's no way the powder is causing eyebrow hair loss. (unless it has nair in it somehow!)

is there no hair at all? i'm a big fan of eyebrow tinting if you have a little bit of hair. also, sometimes a really nice brow-shaping can work with the brows you have and make them more defined. i know it sounds counter-intuitive to get your brows waxed/tweezed when you have sparser hair, but it makes a shape more solid and i think in turn makes the eyebrows look fuller. (provided your aesthetician doesn't give you a "connect the dots" type of shape!)

if you prefer to use a pencil, make sure it is very sharp and use small, precise strokes (similar to how hairs look). i think powder looks better, but err on the side of lighter rather than darker unless you want to look like divine. this sounds silly, but shadows with a HINT (not very noticeable) of glimmer to them are nice because your brow hairs naturally reflect light, and these types of shadows mimic that effect.

Whoa Erin, you're like the brow expert! How do you do eyebrow tinting? Is there special dye for this or something? I'd be scared to use hair dye because I know it's not supposed to get in your eyes... Or do you just use cotton balls or something to be careful?

i do a lot of eyebrows! i know i am a hairstylist, but a lot of people got their brows done by me at work. it is an exacting art and i could go on forever and a day about it....

there is special eyebrow tinting stuff. i know roux makes some, and you might be able to get it without a license at sally's or something like that. most salons do this as a service, though, and it isn't very expensive, depending where you go. (i think its the same price as an eyebrow wax at my salon) it's not permanent, though, and needs done maybe once a month.
