getting rid of greasy hair?
Permalink Closed

I know this is gross, but I have weigh in tonight & I really don't have time to shower & wash my hair - I am working from home, but I can't get in the shower & be unavailable! So my hair is kinda greasy looking - what to do? I guess I could wear a do-rag thing, but when I do that it slicks back my bangs & looks even worse. I could go looking gross, but I hope I don't have to!

I know I should put this under H&B but I need quick responses since i only have about an hour to figure this out.

Rubbing baby powder onto your roots really does wonders.  I rub lots and lots of powder onto my roots, flip my hair upside down and blow dry for ~1 min.  It alway always works - and give you added super volume!

Oh, and don't worry about adding too much baby powder and having it look white - blow drying helps with that.

I agree with Tara I do this to my hair  because it gets oily and it works great!

yep, baby powder.  helps a lot.  i have blonde-ish hair and it works great, but i think you have to be more careful when your hair is dark.

I know your weigh in is already over but cornstarch works really well also.

Thanks ladies, I'm keeping these tips in mind because I'm sure this will come up again. As it turns out, I didn't have time to do ANYTHING except blow it out a little & I guess it was ok. Since I got my hair cut it's sometimes looking oily on day 2 & I just can't figure it out. Usually I wash my hair every other day & it's no big deal!

i second and third the baby powder/cornstarch!

if i am really desperate and don't have those items, i spray a ton of hairspray on the top of my hair, tease it, and then comb it out again. hairspray can soak up so much!
