Hat wearers!

Question:  What do you do when you wear hats?  I have a bunch of cute bucket style hats for cold weather and I never know what to do with them once I get to work.  Do I leave it on all day, or do I take it off and have hat hair?

I'd love to get some more use out of my hats, so any advice is needed.  By the way, here's my newest hat purchase from Anthro:

Awww, that hat is so cute!

What I do (FWIW) depends on what kind of hat I am wearing. If the hat is truly a part of my outfit, I leave it on. If it's something I'm wearing to keep my head warm or rain off, I usually end up taking it off. So, usually newsboys and floppy-brim styles stay on, and buckets, cloches, beanies, etc. come off. (At work - casually, I often leave them on, and then I follow a totally different logic with summer hats.) But, that being said, I think you'd be fine to leave them on.

As far as hat hair, I don't know if I'm much help. My hair is naturally curly and has a lot of body, so i usually don't have problems with hat hair.

I don't think this was helpful at all ... sorry! Lilykind probably has better thoughts!

I tend to keep my hats on all day. The hats I wear in TS remain on my head all day. At my old work, they had no problems with this. My new work seems to be a bit conservtive, at least at the home office, so I'll be laying off the hats for now until I get out on a show and can wear casual stuff again.

For cold weather hats (like knits and heavy wools) that are more for warmth than anything, I will take them off. This would also go for rain hats.

I do get mild hat hair...usually I can just run my fingers through my hair and it's all normal again. I can generally prevent it by using fewer hair products and by waiting until my hair is completely dry in the morningbefore plopping a hat on.

Thanks ladies!

Most of my hats are the "keep your head warm" kind, but one or two of them could be used more for outfits, so I've been wondering what to do.  I think I'd probably feel weird (or get weird looks from coworkers) if I were to keep a hat on all day, so I'll just try to incorporate them into my weekend outfits more and get use out of them that way.

If you have wear your hair with no bangs, you can wear a sleek low ponytail in the back, and just fix/smooth when you take off the hat.
