Lawyers/law students: need a quote for my paper
Permalink Closed

I'm just getting started writing my 30 - 50 page note to satisfy my law school's writing requirement (it's due Jan. 30... eek!).  The topic is super boring, but I didn't know what I was doing when I picked it, and since I've already done the research, I've decided to stick with it.

To perk the thing up a bit, I wanted to lead off with a quote (on the first page, centered, right under the title).  My paper is about the spoliation of evidence, and whether Tennessee court should let people who are harmed because of spoliation sue the.... well, spoliator, in a separate tort suit.  (I hope this little synopsis makes sense.  By the way, for all you 1Ls, "spoliation" is when someone destroys evidence, either intentionally or negligently, and in so doing keeps someone from being able to present it at trial.)

I'd like the quote to be a little quirky, kind of tongue-in-cheek... maybe something from a poem/song/whatever about not throwing stuff away because you'll regret it later.

Thanks.

you ought to google articles about enron and arthur andersen since that was the thing that brought andersen down (shredding docs). the movie fun with dick and jane pokes fun at that same thing.  Maybe you can find a quote from the movie - i saw it but can't really remember any memorable quotes.

Oooh, that's a good idea... hadn't thought of that.  I'll have to check it out!
