Kors Boot Dilemma/Sizing ? *UPDATE*
Permalink Closed

So... I've been lusting after these boots in the chocolate brown all season:

Suede Flat Boots

They're finally on sale at Saks (yeah!), but I'm having a sizing issue.  I heard Kors boots tend to run small and, since it's winter, I'll probably wear big socks.  I'm normally an 8.5 in sneakers, and some American shoes (like MJ flats, etc.) and a 39 in pointy heels (Manolos, Louboutin, Prada, etc.).  I managed to locate these boots (through Saks wonderful cs) at a TX store.  They had the chocolate in an 8.5 and the black in a 9, so I had them send both (figuring I could return the one that doesn't fit).  I also, because I'm a little crazy, pre-ordered the size 9.5 brown boots available on the web site for pre-order.  Ugh... I know I'm going to have to try them all on, but I'm impatient- anyone have any experience/thoughts on the sizing of this boot (or Kors boots in general?).  I'm hoping the 8.5 in Brown will work and I can just cancel the pre-order, but I fear they may be too small with winter socks.  If the 9.5 are a little big, is there anything I can do- like wear inserts with heavy socks (or will that be too much?)?  What does everyone think of these boots in the black- still cute?

Ugh.. sorry for all the questions, but any opinions you girls can offer would be much appreciated!

In my experience Kors runs a little big, if anything.  I'm usually between a 7.5 and an 8 and I have the beavertons in a 8 and the Kors Grand Prixs (sandles) in an 8.5.

I have found that Michael by Michael Kors shoes run small. I got those round-toe Gwen pumps in size 11 and they were WAY too small. I normally wear 11, sometimes 10.

Thanks for all the input, ladies! The saks web site just got the 9 in stock in the chocolate brown... so I now have two pairs (chocolate and black) in 9 coming to my house and one pair in 8.5 coming to my house (I'll need to do some returning- or ebaying!). While it seems they will run small, I think the 9.5 will just be too too big. I'm hoping the 8.5 or 9 will work, though! If they're really comfy and the 9 fits, I may be bad and keep them in both colors.

Anyway, if anybody else is interested, it looks like Saks.com is getting more in the chocolate in and they're a great price ($123 before the code).

Thanks, honey!

Ritz, the 10% off code is SHOPJAN. If they don't have your size-color combo, you can either wait a couple of days and check the site religiously (they have literally been adding new sizes each day- I called Saks to inquire and they said, even though they're on sale, they're working to get more from the vendor) or you can call the cs line and have them check stores for your size-color combo (black isn't offered on the site, but it is in the stores).

****UPDATE*****
I received the boots I ordered from the Saks in TX. I'm so glad I ended up canceling the 9.5 boots. Here's a review/sizing stuff for anyone interested: The 8.5 are a little tight, but I totally could have made them work without thick socks. But I'm glad I have the option of getting the 9 instead because it's a bit more comfy. So they're basically running a teeny bit small. They're really comfy overall, but the fit is a little weird- they're tighter in the toes and looser in the heels (on both pairs, even the ones that were tight- the heel was still a little loose). It doesn't really bother me though. They seem like they will be really warm outside as well. The treading looks fine, but I probably won't go around wearing them in heavy snow or really icy weather. They seem best for cold, dry days. The chocolate brown is really, really gorgeous (I can't wait to get them in the right size from Saks!). I like the black- they're really cute and seem like they might go with a lot of my stuff, but I don't love them the way I do the chocolate. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep the black. I'm going to be returning the brown in 8.5 to a local store, but if anyone wants them, I'd be happy to do paypal and ship them to you for what I paid (something like $124 b/c I got them through a store and couldn't use the code). I'm still undecided on the black....
