Were some up the people who signed up rather new and no longer participating on this board?  I sure would hope they feel guilty about receiving a lovely gift.

Oh gosh- I would be very surprised if anybody on this board would do that.  More likely, it's mail troubles.  Things get lost all the time and my ss gift I mailed took twice as long as usps said it would.  With the number of us participating, it is more than possible that some got caught up in the holiday shuffle, got delivered to incorrect addresses, etc.  Also, so many people are still out of town and might not be near computers so they haven't been able to check if the gift got there on time.  I agree with Rosie- might be a good idea to have Karina or LSU pm them so they can get on usps/ups/fedex, whatev!

I wouldn't chalk it up to being "burned." I'd be shocked to learn that anyone here would do that. Although I'm sad for you girls that you haven't received anything yet. I'm sure your gifts are on their ways! And like rosey metioned, there are several possibilities as to why they're late.

Don't worry, last year I had a family emergency and was not able to send my SS in time. I think I had Escrime, anyways she finally got her gift by mid January. I am sure that no one has ill intentions, maybe something came up, like with what happened to me.


Like the girls mentioned it could have been mail troubles, being out of town, all sorts of possibilities. Either way I am sending good vibes so that you girls will get your gifts soon!!!!!!

Although it might have been a negative thing to say, I don't think what Cortney had to say was inaccurate about Secret Santa exchanges in general. While I don't think any of the regulars or 99.9% of people who participate more infrequently or no longer participate would burn you, it is possible that someone that is no longer participating in the board blew the exchange off.  I really hope that's not the case and you get your wonderful gift today.

I don't see what was so negative about what Cortney said at all. It seems like jen did get burned at this point in the game, but it also is possible that her secret santa has been away on business or an extended vacation; or, like Cortney said, no longer participates in the board.

I don't think it was a negative thing to say, either... I just don't can't imagine that anyone here would do that (but I hadn't thought about those who may not participate in ST anymore). I feel bad for these girls who haven't received any gifts yet. Nothing's wrong with staying optimistic .
