i'm looking for dresses - casual, flattering dresses.  for my cruise - i hardly ever wear dresses, it's too hard for me to find any that fit well.  i'm 5'4" and curvy - big chest, soft tummy, all that good stuff.  i can't do strapless or anything that you can't wear a bra with.


what is your go-to dress for when you want to be comfortable but still feel hot?

Try DVF type (in a good silk or modal jersey) wrap dress.  I have a halter style wrap dress which I think is a good type for a cruise. 


Also, Empire waist/babydoll dresses are my comfort zone and also very summery.

I have 2 favorite dresses. The first one I have had since 1999-2000. It is matte jersey sheath, and it hits just past my knees (a good hemline for me). The neckline is high in the front and low in the back. It reminds me of the one Renee Z wore in Jerry Maguire. I love that the fabric is matte jersey, because it's really comfortable and doesn't wrinkle.


My other favorite I bought this year from BR. It's really comfortable too:

I have this dress from Anthro and it's very flattering. It's also really supportive on top so you can go without a bra.
