I have an eBay problem
Permalink Closed

I know this should go in the eBay section, but I need quick advice.

I bidded on and won an item on eBay on December 4. It ended up to be less than $10 after shipping. The seller only accepted checks or money orders, so I promptly went to the store and got a money order and sent it to the address she provided. I got it back in the mail a week later because it was an undeliverable address. I put it in a new envelope with a new stamp and double checked the address... a week later, I got it back again. I contacted the seller to confirm her address, which was the same one that I had been sending it to all along. I tried to re-send it (right before Christmas), and it didn't come back, so I assumed that it went to her. I never received the item. Today I got an email from her:

We never did receive your payment. If I do not hear from you
about this item immediately, it will be relisted and I will be
forced to leave less than positive feedback.

What am I supposed to do? I realize that I should have sent a check so I could know if she cashed it or not, but I wasn't thinking of that at the time. I don't have a ton of feedback, but it is 100%. I don't want my reputation to be tarnished because of this... I don't want to send her the money again, and I don't even want the item anymore-- it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. Help me, please.

I would send a reply back stating that you have sent the money order to her address (and insert it in the email) three times already and it has been sent back to you twice.  The last time has not been sent back and you assume she received the payment.

I'm not real familar with Money Orders but is there a way you can trace them.  I know they are serially numbered.  Maybe you can call a bank and just ask if there is a way (even if you didn't buy it there they might know)

I would request her contact info and give her a call. I have done this on a few occasions and usually the seller was nice and resolved the problem quickly.
