how do these fit?

I wear a 32 in Joe's jeans. Are they very low rise? How wide are they through the legs? I have some thunder thighs, let me tell you!! Also, I'm very short, 5'4", so I'd probably need to chop a few inches off the bottom. Would the fading look weird then?

Thanks, I'm just starting to make my way into the realm of designer denim

IME they run a bit small. I perferred the 28 in the stretch Meli-Melo, but wear a 27 stretch in the Joe's Honey fit. They are low rise, but not terribly low...they probably sit maybe an inch below my bellybutton at the most. I too have pretty large thighs and was able to get them over...as with most jeans they are fairly tight through the thighs but not in a bad way.

The fading is different with every pair of jeans, but that particular wash would be fine because it's not drastically faded through the thighs.

I have the Meli-Melo culottes in a 29, which is what I normally wear (that or a 28).  They feel a little snug on the butt at first, but I attributed that to an expanding booty.  They seemed to stretch a little as I wore them.  But I love them to death!  Those and all my Louie jeans are my new favorites, even above 7s

i have those same jeans.  they fit great.  i have a 28 waist and 32 hips.  i got the 29 and they fit pretty good.  i also have bigger thighs and they fit me nicely.  the trouser fit does wonders on  slimming the leg.  but i find that true for any pants.  and no they are not too low rise. i love them.  they are so easy to dress up or dress down.
