We went to a friends house with 4 other couples, ate some good food, had some good wine, blew our noisemakers at midnight, and went home to go to bed.  I am a party animal.

We went to our friend's house w/ 2 other couples and ate until we were about to burst!  And of course drank.  All the girls' drink of the night was a French Kiss, which is champagne, chambord, and pineapple juice.  YUM!

My boyfriend was in town so we went to a fancy dinner with another couple and then to a bar to listen to live music and rang in the new year dancing to a band's cover of Purple Rain.   Made it home about 3am and then slept the day away!

BF & I ended up running errands most of the day- we finally made it to the huge liquor store downtown that everyone talks about.  Being new to town neither one of us really knew what to do or where to go so I ended up cooking alb's pork tenderloin with gorgonzola recipe and then we got ready to attempt to go to Dave & Busters but like everywhere else there was a huge cover charge so we just went home and watched the ball drop on tv at 11 (Central time) and went to bed without drinking the champagne I bought so we redid new years last night and went out to eat and drank champagne at midnight.

My bf and I went to a party.  It was low-key, only about 20 or so people there but it was lots of fun!

Happy new year everyone!

thanks.  it actually came about because nye was kind of a let down for both of us because we couldn't come up with anything to do and every restaurant was on the fixed menu thingy and I felt like he had given up on the night around 7 or 8 and he thought the same of me which in reality neither one of us had but oh well!  We just redid it last night and it was great.  We got to finish watching Sex and the City Season 1 and had a nice dinner.

The boy and I went to a party at one of his friend's houses.  They had brought a really cool bar in and had open bar the whole evening. We also had to get dressed up and I got to style the boy's outfit.  So much fun! He let me dress him!

Anyway, I ended up drinking too much champagne (I think a whole bottle) and we cut out of the party shortly after midnight, went back to his place, cooked some frozen pizza and ate it in bed. I think that was the best part of the night.

My friend and I hosted a party at my house. We had a few other couples over and had a blast. We resorted to college and played "pile" a drinking game. Then around 1am everyone went home and the FI cleaned up and went to bed. It was so fun because 3 of the couples there are getting married this year, like us so it was extra special!

I am glad we gave up the hotel parties/bars that we used to go to, this way I woke up feeling semi-ok, rather than horrible!

my bf and i drove 5 hours to wisconsin to an area called door county.  we got there friday night (30th)after stopping at the outlets in wisconsin (i got a ton of cashmere sweaters really cheap from bcbg).  we drove through an hour of snow to get to this restaurant that we had reservations for.  we got to our hotel (fireplace and jacuzzi in the room....pretty sweet, to wake up to the snow covered lake).  the next day we went shopping and my bf surprised me with a ring (not that kind of ring).  it was really fun.  we stopped at a couple of local bars (gotta love bloody marys) and galleries.  we were back to the hotel by 5pm, to take a nap.  we had 9pm dinner reservations, then got back around 11pm and toasted the new year in the jacuzzi with a bottle of champagne.  it was a pretty sweet new years, even if it was just the two of us.

i hope everyone has a wonderful 2006!

I had the BEST New Year's I've had in a long time. We rented a cabin with several friends, about 2 hours from where we live. We all drove up on the 31st and came home yesterday. These cabins are fully outfitted with everything you could need, except for food, but we all brought and cooked our own food, which was awesome - we have some great cooks in the group. We had a hot tub, pool table, air hockey at the cabin, plus we brought a ton of games, tons of champagne, beer, and wine.

There were seven of us and we drank and played all sorts of games and just chatted about everything. We did a hike outside on New Year's Day (afternoon; we all slept in) and had a rousing few games of Pictionary / Charades (we'd played Pictionary, then decided to use the Pictionary cards to do Charades with) to finish off our last night there. It was hysterical.

We actually enjoyed ourselves so much that we are looking at doing something similar in the spring again. It was awesome to be away from all of our "normal" lives and no one had to drive or pay a lot of $$ on NYE. And we all got along so well. We had four Americans, two French people, and a Brit in our group, and it was so fun to learn more about each others' culture - we talked language semantics all weekend and gave each other a lot of good-natured grief.

We cenented several existing friendships even more, and made two new friends (DH and I had not met two of the people before the weekend), and they're all awesome folks. I can't remember the last NYE I enjoyed quite so much.

We had all these options, dinner here, party there, but the boy and I just decided to stay home. Aren't we lame? We bought a fondue set at Crate &B and had yummy fondue and champagne. It was probably one of the best NYEs I've ever had, and it's the first one where I've stayed home. Coincidence?
