the early's 90's were particularly bad until CLUELESS came out - which I still love the movie! :)

OH. MY. GOD!!!!  That is hilarious!  I swear that when that came out my style changed from the grunge I was just talking about to chunky loafers, mini plaid skirts, button down white tops with little cute sweaters over them!!!  This thread is causing my fashion life from age 12 to 20 to FLASH before my eyes!!!!

I am so glad there's finally a thread for my two favorite outfits of the early 90s!

5th grade: I spent my entire back-to-school budget on this outfit: dark green "Hammer pants" with tiny red flowers, a red shell with big  black buttons, and a black blazer that had -- get this -- buttons that matched the pattern in the pants. HAWT!

6th grade: ruffled white "poet blouse" (it looked like the Puffy Shirt from Seinfeld) b& w blazer with huge houndstooth pattern, grey miniskirt & those oxford-looking shoes.

Oh, and remember the mid-late 90s? Did anyone else have like a thousand of those short kilt miniskirts with the buckles a la Clueless?

Ah, memories.

 LOVE THIS THREAD...

My memories of bad fashion... to name a few

NEON BRIGHTS I remember my fave outfit when I was six was this black banded hot pink mini skirt with suspenders and a neon paint splattered shirt ?? WTF?

Scrunchies, I would always wear them on my wrist

Big sweater with tight multi colored leggings complete with scrunch socks and colored keds

My huge Esprit bag- it was decorated by an artist at Nordstrom with glitter puff paint!! I thought I was so cool, that was 4th grade

Of course I had skin tight jeans with zippers on the ankle complete with a tiny deniim bow

Oh yeah and halleybird... I idolized Cher on Clueless... of course I had tons of those kilt skirts and matching message shirts that said stuff like "Whatever, As if...

There are so many more...

a woman after my own heart. i had the hammer pants with a matching vest. my mom made the outfit for me and i was so proud of it.

i also had an outfit similar to your sixth grade outfit. fuschia blazer with huge lapels, a black mini, and the same shoes. and to top it off, i had a bowler hat. what can i say, blossom was my style icon.

eta: i posted b/f i read the entire thread. puffy paint...oh the memories. i used to have so many handmade sweatshirts.

my all time favorite outfit was laura ashley inspired. (she is personally responsible for my current fear of prints). my mom found a pattern and made me this outfit to wear the first day of school in 6th grade

but it was polka dot material. i thought i was so cool b/c i had these black keds to wear with them that also had a black sole. (my how times change i remember having to beg my  mom for them b/c she thought $25 was too much to spend on shoes for me) and wore a big banana clip in my hair.
