Yes, I have noticed this too- not only in the stores, but in magazines as well. I think that alot of this look is based on the " shorts, wool tights, and boots look". The boots either dress or casual depending on the type of top you add to the mix? I dont know, Im not too excited about the whole look for my own application, but I know that some could pull it off really successfully.

Thick opaque tights are the anwer to all your bare-legged winter fashion problems. I almost bought a pair of wool shorts at F21 yesterday until I realized the line for the registers was at leat 50 people long! Grrrrr....

Honestly, though, I live in Los Angeles and it's still in the 60s out during the day. I don't think I could do wool shorts in below freezing temps.

I have a pair of thw wool shorts I got from forever 21 a month ago and I was kind of wondering the same thing. I think I would feel like a dork wearing wool shorts with tights!!

Opague tights or textured tights? with some cute closed toe or peep toe heels, or boots.

But I have to agree with Lilykind - It was between 92-88F in Sherman Oaks on Sat and only slightly cooler in O.C. when I went home this weekend. It's been a very warm winter thus far, even by L.A. standards.
