Now I really need help. This is not a casual gathering.  Guys are required to wear ties.  I must have a fabulous outfit and I don't have a lot of time to shop. Can you ladies help me by posting some ideas? Thanks.

What kind of ensemble would you prefer?  Dress?  Skirt/top?  Pants/Top?  Budget?

i know you said dress but....i like skirts too...it's easier to be "stylish" with a skirt, more options for fun.

hope this helps a little....even though you did want ideas for dresses.

IMO, the best stores for dress shopping are BCBG, Bebe and Nordstrom.  And because you are so creative, you could put together a spectacular outfit at Antho.  I was in BCBG on Monday, and a lot of the dresses are on sale.  Here are my favs:

I tried this Nanette Lepore dress that lynnie was obsessing over some time ago at Anthro yesterday and if I was two inches taller in the legs, it would've been mine. It was $149.95 in the store.

I also love all the BCBG dresses too. *sigh*

I forgot I posted this! Thanks for all of the suggestions. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make the hour+ drive to the decent mall, so I'm stuck with the crapass local mall where the 'decent' stores are Express and Limited (and I hate both of those stores).  I'm really going to have to get creative.  Thanks for all the suggestions. Great jumping off points for me.
