my lovely boyfriend bought me these true religion joeys for xmas:


View Larger ImageView Larger Imagei didn't ask for them, and they were outrageously expensive ($278) so my first thought was to return them (store credit only) and get another less expensive pair of jeans or 2 and some shoes.  but now that i own them, i'm kind of liking them and don't know if i want to return them.  it's more money than i would ever spend, and i'm worried that they're too trendy (twisted seams, flap pockets, rips) and i might get sick of  them.  but they're so cute ...


my other options are to buy another pair of bobbys (my most favorite jeans ever):

other pertinant info:  i have mostly dark to medium washes in jeans -- nothing too light.  the joeys are not stretch and i love to have some stretch in my jeans.  they fit pretty snugly and i'm wondering if they'll stretch out a little like other jeans do?

i really lke the ones he got you!  that said, i need stretch in my jeans so i'd be hesitant too, and would probably return them for that reason.  sadly.  wear them around the house for a while before you decide- my non stretch jeans almost always stretch out.

i generally hate jeans with crap all over them but these are quite tastefully done. i voted to keep the joeys. the holes are tastefully done as well, it looks real as opposed to some jeans that look so much like some little cambodian kid sat there and tore them with scissors. wear them around the house and see how you feel sitting and standing in the material of them. plus...see what your bf thinks of you in them. does he really like you in them and the way they fit? then well, maybe they are a keeper.

I voted to keep the Joeys - I have a pair (just the regular darker wash) and I love them.  They fit me perfectly and are very comfortable and flattering.  I have the non stretch kind, but they definitely stretched a little w/wear.

I say keep the Joeys. They're so cool, and the great thing about gifts is that they can be impractical. Plus it's sweet of your boyfriend to pick them out. He probably put a lotof thought into it and it'd be sad to return them.

I vote keep the joeys... Even though its more money than you would ever spend on a pair of jeans, isn't that one of the great things about getting gifts? I always think the best gifts are ones where you wouldn't normally buy it for yourself... So enjoy them :)

I think those jeans are so unique- I definately would wear them if I had the figure to.  Keep them. I think they will always be special to you because they were a gift from your boyfriend and have so much thought behind them.

Well I am quite picky about what jeans I wear so take my opinion with a grain of salt.   I do love Joeys/Big T and I recommend them to anyone.  In this case, I'd probably take the jeans back and exchange them for something similar but more you - for example, a pair of darker wash Joeys with some stretch, like these:

You said store credit only huh?  I guess if the store didn't carry anything like that, I would probably keep them too and try to wear them.  Just fyi, I have non-stretch TRs and they did stretch a little in the usual stretch areas like butt and knees, but not around the waist. HTH.
