after careful consideration- i want my first white button down (gasp! first!) to be a soft washed cotton twill- sorta like those heather-y light blue ones, that is sorta slouchy but not big- hard to explain. i want it to fit perfectly and not be too short or long. Anyone know where to look- i was thinking maybe the skinny fit polo? does anyone know how these fit? i know polo.com sometimes has 30 or 40% codes - sfc soemtimes posts them, so i'd probably just wait for that:
Hmmm...as much as I hate to say it, have you tried Abercrombie? I used to have a shirt from there that was exactly what you're describing. JCrew also has good white button downs, but I think they're too structured for what you're looking for.
I am very picky on white button downs too and i found one at Banana Republic that i loved. It was more of a twill type material, but it was a bit more structured than the one you are describing. but it might be worth a shot to check it out!
This sounds exactly like the button downs I wore in my high school uniform. They're from Flynn and O'Hara. The best part...they're all around $20.
I actually still wore them up until last year and they only got softer with wear. Buy the girls' sizes...they'll give you the fit you want (The Adult Small is what I have and it's very much a 'big shirt' on me now). I think you'd want a girls' size 14 or 16.
If you were thinking about the Polo Fitted white shirts, they actually fit really nice, and Im thinking would work with what you are talking about. They aren't super super fitted, but just enough so they aren't big and baggy and like their non fitted shirts. I have one and love it. Although, personally, I would probably rather have one without the horse on it.
I also agree with the other girls suggestions.

nicoley- where did you get yours? i want to try it on, then order it custom online when there's a code since there are no returns when you choose the color of the pony. i was gonna do a white pony on a white shirt- i agree about not really wanting a logo. i think that would work. or i could get a monogram? i think i'd be better off with the white horse.
I actually got mine at the Ralph Lauren Outlet, They have such a large selection if you have one near you, they had rows and rows in every color imaginable....
But I think you can find them at department store, although I haven't looked recently...
If you have an actual Ralph Lauren store they would have them too.. Going to a Ralph Lauren store is your best bet...
And I think that is a great idea to do the custom online... That will be so fab looking with a white horse and white shirt.. Love it!
Hope you can find the shirt!
