My baby sis is moving your way after she graduates in May, and needs a place to live.  Anyone have the skinny on 1BR or Studio rentals, or where's the best place to look for one (no brokers!!!)

It's expensive to live in the city so I would suggest a suburb outside the city Bowie, Laurel, Silver Spring or Mt Rainier in Md or Alexandria in Va


She can check craigslist.com for roommate listings and rentals in and around DC though.

what kinds of things is she looking for? metro accessable? does she need a parking space? does she want to be in DC itself, or is VA/MD ok? Does she have a job set up (commutes can be pretty long, so that would narrow down neighborhoods some...)? Does she have a rent range in mind? Based on these things, I would be able to suggest a few places that I/friends have lived...
