own any pets?
No. I'm allergic to anything with fur :(

what cd is in your car cd player?
I don't have a car but the cd in my stereo is a Blondie/Police mix.

whats the last movie you saw?
I just saw Narnia yesterday.

whats 1 thing you love about your body? if you have more than 1, go for it
least?

I always joke that my ears are my best feature. I like that I have a high waist-to-hip ratio even though it sometimes makes buying clothes difficult. And I like the beauty mark I have next to my eye.
As for what I like least...there a number of things. I don't really like my skin, my teeth are pretty yellow and otc whiteners don't help, I wish my legs were longer and while I like the color of my hair I didn't have to blowdry or straighten it.

whats the most expensive thing you've bought for yourself?
Other than plane tickets, probably one of the following accessories, all of which came to around $200

for another person?
I don't usually go too over the top with presents but in college I did put out the money for my then-bf to buy a guitar and amp. They were used so it wasn't terribly expensive but it was definitely over $200. He eventually repaid me by giving me his old stereo.

*how did you become a librarian?
Towards the end of college I was trying to figure out what to do with my liberal arts degree and I knew that it was going to be difficult to find a good job in the art world with a decent salary so I started thinking about how one thing I loved to do is research and I also dreaded the idea of having a generic office job and having to do lots of projects and deal with meetings etc. and I wondered if being a librarian was a good option. I wound up getting a summer internship at a law firm (same one I'm at now!) and they had a spot in the library. I talked to the reference librarians there and learned that they were paid well and they did a lot of challenging research so I decided to do that. I also like the fact that there's a decent amount of flexibility. If I get sick of this I can switch to another kind of library relatively easily.

*what is your favorite book?
Probably Brideshead Revisisted. I think I've read it 3 times and there's just something about it that clicks for me. I also love Master and Margarita, Crime and Punishment, The Great Gatsby, The Executioner's Song.

*do you have brothers/sisters? where are they/what do they do?
I have a sister who is almost 3 years younger. She's the quintessential younger sister - wild, not especially responsible etc. - and it's funny how opposite we are. But she's tons of fun and she's my best friend.

*how did you meet your french bf?
He's actually only temporarily French. He was born in Romania and raised in NJ but he has been living in Europe for a large portion of the past few years - first in England for grad school and now in France for a fellowship. Hopefully he'll get a position in the US for next fall!

We met through friends. It was actually pretty funny - our friends tried to set us up last summer and I wasn't into him at all and couldn't figure out what my friends were thinking. I tried to abort the set-up by saying something that I figured he would think was really ignorant and thus if he had any interest in me it would quickly evaporate. Then late last year I started lurking on a message board where a bunch of these same friends post and I happened upon a poster that seemed funny and interesting and one day realized that it was the weirdo my friends tried to set me up with. I started corresponding with him right before he moved to France, threw him a going away party and when he came back to the States in April we finally got together.

I feel kind of silly having all these questions about my boyfriend since we haven't even been dating for that long but I think a lot of people know that this was a long time coming (I was single for like 5 years) so this is kind of a big deal for me and even though it's kind of dorky and pathetic I am so so happy to no longer be single even though I hardly ever see my bf.
