first off, i always wanted to, but my parents never ended up signing me up for it. i LOVED horses when i was little (what little girl doesn't?) my 8 year old self is extremely jealous.
anyway, my q is more fashion related, haha. i want a pair of black riding/dressage boots and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which were the best/which would be silly to wear out on the street. i like the ones that go up on one side like these:
anyone have any recs? i know they are pricey, so i was gonna try to find used. are some just better/comfier than others? i think i'd rather have authentic riding boots than j crew/via spiga/some other brand boots in a similar style.
To be completely honest, real riding boots are absolute HELL to walk around in unless they're perfectly broken in!! Until my mom sprung for custum Voguls (yes I was a spoiled brat, but I also rode and showed constantly) finding boots was the worst. I constantly had horrible saddle sores and blisters, esp. on the back of the heel. I really, honestly just recommend that you go with J.Crew or some other type of boot that's meant for walking, since riding boots are made to ride in, not walk. Make sense? If you have any other questions though, feel free to pm me or try to get my attention on here. If you are set on boots, go for an Ariat boot since they have really comfortable gel insoles. They're more comfortable to stand in, but that's about it!
