Can ANYONE suggest a gift idea for a 6 yr old boy? I/we have no idea. A friend of mine is his godparent and the gift should be extravagant and not practical at all, apparently. Upper price limit is $300 and no PSP etc.

Hmm, this is probably not what you have in mind, but worth a shot. My mom bought this for my little brother .

do you know at all what he's into? i love the roboraptor personally...spent about an hour playing with it at sam's club back in october actually. it really is cool. is he allowed to play video games? perhaps a console? or just a huge stack of games? does he need a bike? or maybe he's into science? how about a chemistry set? or if he's a fan of any one pro (basket/foot/baseball) team or player there's always a jersey or signed ball or something. hope that helps a little!

here are some things my 6 yr likes


tinker toys- he loves to build


computer games(we are looking for some more, he has outgrown  his  he is liking the car racing ones that you can use a steering wheel  that hooks to the computer


art set


remote control car or monster truck  (the kind he controls with hand controls)

Ooh thanks for all the suggestions - he's a real boy's boy if that makes sense - likes cars and trucks and mechanical/loud type things. I am going to check out that RoboRaptor, that thing looks cool!
