i went to see this yesterday and i really liked it! it's not as funny as the previews suggest (there's actually a really sad storyline that they don't reference at all in any of the previews), but it's a great family/holiday movie. it was interesting to see sjp play such an unlikeable character and luke wilson was hilarious- he made the movie. i also looooooved diane keaton (as always). definitely a dream cast. there were definitely some cheesy moments, but overall i really enjoyed it.

anyone else see it?

Haven't seen it but I reeeeally want to; didn't SJP get nominated for a Golden Globe for it too? Now I will for sure!!

Yes, I saw this movie on Tuesday!  My friend got tickets for a screening @ Fox Studios.  I was also expecting very funny - but ended up needing some Kleenex.  Fabulous cast!  I love Diane Keaton, Rachel MacAdams, and of course SJP!

I saw it yesterday and I thought it was alright.  Not great, not terrible, but just kinda so-so in my book.

I thought the whole plot was a little cheesy and unrealistic and I didn't really feel sympathetic towards any of the characters.  It was sad in the end though and I wasn't really expecting that.  Claire Danes was great though.  I love her.

i saw it the day it came out and this is exactly how i felt about it!

i did cry a little at the end too but i was expecting this movie to be much better. So many great actors in this movie so i was disappointed it wasn't a great movie. But i still love SJP and Rachel McAdams

I saw it Sunday, and I agree with your opinion.

I was busting up when the Everett character was chasing the Ben character around.

I saw this it this weekend too, and cried throughout the whole movie!  I knew it wasn't a straight up comedy, but I was still surprised about how emotional it was.  And how emotional I got!  Overall, I really liked it - even if I have to buy more pocket kleenex tonight at Target.

I went to this movie expecting to hate it, but I actually liked it. I think it was very good for the sort of movie it is. And I just always love Diane Keaton. I think SJP was poorly cast though. She did a good job, but Carrie Bradshaw is just a little too fresh, not to mention deeply embedded, in my mind for me to totally buy her in this role.

I saw this last night and I agree w/Tati and NCShopper - I didn't really care for this movie.  I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't love it.  It got boring in spots and seemed to drag.  I thought SJP was pretty bad in it - her character was so unlikeable and she just didn't do a very good job.  The  only characters I really liked were Luke Wilson and Claire Danes.  I thought there were a lot of plot holes.  The family met SJP and just pretty much instantly hated her, which I thought was unrealistic...there were some other holes too.

i totally liked it.  first of all, i appreciated that it was short.  i'm so tired of incredibly long movies, they feel like work!  i also thought sjp was great, I thought she was fabulous at playing an unlikeable character in a relateable way.  i also liked that her character was complex and not a thing like carrie bradshaw. oh and claire danes looked really pretty in this movie, prettier than i've ever seen her.  i also thought she was great.  i actually thought everyone did a really good job of playing characters in a "real" way--no one was all bad, no one was all good.  oh but i didn't really buy the romances, they weren't really well-developed imo, but whatever i'm still glad i didn't have to sit through a crazy-long movie.

I agree about Claire Danes, she was so pretty.  And also about the romances.  Particularly Rachel McAdams'.  That guy was lame.
