Quilted bag question
Permalink Closed

Ok, ok...I know I'm going to be ordering my Speedy soon so I really shouldn't be even thinking about another bag.  But just out of curiousity...are there any bags out there like this for a bit cheaper?

I love the Chanel-esque look.  The quilting is so yummy I could eat it.  I'm just wondering if there are any other styles out there with this quilted look.  How much do the Chanel ones run?  And do you think the MJ one will be around long enough so that say...in a few months AFTER my Speedy...it'll still be around in case I want it?

P.S. Detroit...don't you have this bag?  Review?

I love that bag! And compared to Chanel prices, it isn't that bad price-wise. Chanel bags usually start at $1200 and go up in price. But I know I'll carry mine literally until I die which you can't say about other bags. Here are some other quilted bags I love...

Lady Dior $1430

MJ Black Satchel $1200

MJ Clutch $795--- I love this!

My Flat in London sling hobo, $495... also in brown

sfclinevandy - I LOOOOVE the satchel as well.  But I CANNOT justify a $1200 bag.   I seriously think my next bag purchase will be a bag in a classic quilted shape.

yes - I do have that bag in "petrol."  I love it, although it's a bit small - good for fitting into a tote or briefcase for work or going out at night.  The chain is quite substantial - and has inspired me to go to the hardward store to see if I can find some chain like that so I can modify another bag I have!  It's a tiny bag for the money, but gorgeous. I love the burgundy suede lining, and the little balls on the zipper fob.  It goes from casual to dressy - I've used it wearing jeans, and plan to use it when I go to a dressy party on Tuesday (at which time I will be wearing my chanel pumps - the same ones that are posted in weekend shopping.)  I think it is more trendy looking than chanel - or maybe it just has more style.  Do you have a Neiman's or Saks you can go to so you can check both out (but buy on-line - avoid the tax!)

P.S. if you decide on the MJ, I would love it if you purchased by clicking through our eluxury link at the bottom of the forum page! part of your purchase goes toward keeping ST alive

Thanks for the review detroit!  Although, I'm not going to buy it anytime soon...this holiday season is killing my bank account.  But when/if I do...I'll be sure to click through the link!

You think either of these are a good cheap alternative?  I love the chain handle of the MJ.

I think this one is cute.

The other one you posted is cute too, but white stitching on black bags really bugs me. It makes it look cheap (IMO).
