My girlfriend has one. She got it when she was like 16. Apperantly in the "country club" atmosphere she grew up in they all had them and at parties they put them in the middle of the table like decorations. And it was a big deal to have on that no one else has. Because of this she now has a $5,000 sparkly racoon.

I've never seen/heard of these before... but does it have straps or something? Are you supposed to carry it like an actual purse or like a clutch or what? It kinda looks like a lunchbox to me... a very sparkly weird looking lunch box

This is totally hilarious...now if I was ever going to be made of money I would get myself a Judith Leiber squirrel. Seeing as that money would probably be better invested towards a Birkin, I think I'll lay off for now.
I really find those sparkly JL bags hideous. I dunno, maybe if I grew up in an environment where they were a thing I wouldn't but they just look so gaudy and awful. I seriously wouldn't even buy that if it was twenty five bucks instead of 5 grand.

Neiman's has a whole case of her purses. I don't "get" them either, but apparently some first ladies do. I read an article about how Laura and Barbara Bush, and Hillary Clinton wore them.
