Please cheer me up guys. My daughter leaves today to go skiing with her dad and I won't see her for a week. I took her to school this morning, and when I left, the waterworks started. I can't stop crying dammit. I'm trying, but it's extremely difficult. Most people can't leave their kids for more than a few days, and I have to go without her for a whole week!!! Also, re Christmas (an update for all of you who know that my ex tried to keep her from me until after Christmas), we compromised sort of. I'll get her Thurs. evening next week and will have her thru Christmas Eve, and then again the Monday after since my office is closed that day. So, we'll be doing "our" Christmas on the eve and am just going to tell her that Santa came early because he knew she would be with me on that day. She's only 5, so she'll buy it.
I swear I would forego any Christmas presents just to have her with me.

It's okay to feel sad and of course you'll miss her, but think of the fun she will have. But just try to think of this time as relaxation time for mommy. You can totally pamper yourself a little this week...go to a grown-up movie, eat some great food, and catch up with old friends.
And a corny joke to cheer you up...
why does a milking stool only have 3 legs....cause the cow has the udder! - laffy taffy joke that just stuck with me
oh iam sorry, hugs to you but I agree with Kari use this time to realax and do things for you that you dont have time for. sorry on the jokes iam not good of those but here are some smilys I love HTH
Cheer up, Misty! I know that must be really hard (I had a hard time just giving Lucy to the nanny this morning after having her all day yesterday) but you are strong enough to get through it. I totally agree with Kari, use this time to relax and enjoy yourself as much as possible, have fun with your boyfriend, etc., and get things all ready around your house for when M comes home. There are tons of great movies out right now (I loved Walk the Line). Take care, Sweetie, it won't be so bad and she'll be back before you know it. And feel free to call me if you need to!
Sorry I don't have anything funny to add, but somebody posted a funny "recipe" thread on this section yesterday (the one with teh Cuervo). That should cheer you up a bit. Also, this girl's blog has provided an interesting distraction for me while at work (she needs to update it though):
Awww thanks guys. Kari and kaykay -- thanks for the laughs. I really DID laugh. It wouldn't be so bad for me if I knew that I could at least talk to her, but he won't answer my calls when she's with him especially bec. his GF is going along on the trip. A & Kari - you know how B is or can be. He is still bitter. Oh well, as I always do, I will continue to pray that his heart will be softened and he'll stop being such an ass.
A - That chick is really funny, just read it. I'll bet it is hard for you to leave Lucy. She's such a cutie pie and is sweet as her mom I'm sure. Btw, I need your address again (sorry, I keep losing it.). Are you guys coming for Christmas? Kari -- how about you? I'd love to see you guys whenever possible.
