One of BF's Christmas presents to me is a night going to a holiday concert with the LA Philharmonic at Disney Hall! Yay! The problem is that I don't know what to wear!!!
Here's the vital stats
Whatever I wear needs to work on public transportation. We'll be taking the subway from Hollywood and Highland to downtown, where the concert hall is.
The concert starts at 7:00 PM Sunday night
I don't want to buy anything...at least not a new outfit, since I'm a po' chica right now who just gave in her two weeks on Monday.
Disney Hall is to Los Angeles what Carnegie Hall/Lincoln Center is to NYC...if that helps.
Also, the description of the concert
'Twas the Week Before Christmas
Songs of the season, traditional carols, and glorious orchestral music of the holidays - all one week before Christmas. The perfect-for-the-family concert will feature singers, choruses, and exactly the right amount of holiday cheer to get you ready for your yuletide celebration.
Plus, we've included special pricing for children 12 and under so you can bring the entire family.
My options:
#1: Cigana dress. I've been trying to find an appropriate occasion for this dress because I love it, but I'm starting to think said occasion doesn't exist.
#2 Anthro dress. I like this dress and all, but I've worn it multiple times already...a lot of the other dresses haven't been worn out at all.
#3 Betsey Johnson. It was my $25 score at Macy's over a year and a half ago and I've not worn it once...that's a shame, right?
#4 Rachel Pally. I just wore this (as per the second pic) to my company's holiday party and it was perfect and ridiculously comfy. I'm thinking that this dress is everydayish...I mean, I'd wear it with flips and take it to the beach the next morning!
#5 Karen Millen. I love this dress...only worn once outside my apartment. Another one of those fab dress scores...this is from January 2004.
#6: None of those, because there will be screaming children at these concerts (no matter how elegant the venus) and their mothers will wear Mom jeans thereby making you among the 5% best dressed even when wearing Juicy sweats.
I'm tied between the B. Johnson and the K. Millen. I think the polkadots would be cool for a "children's/family" event because they are so playful and fun, but the B. Johnson dress is damn flattering and sexy, and I agree that it is a shame you haven't worn it yet.
I agree on the Betsey. It looks so elegant on you, and who cares what the soccer moms will be wearing. You are not a soccer mom, you are Lilykind, who puts her own style stamp on everything. *s*
What a nice collection of dresses you have, BTW! Each is very flattering on you.

I vote for the Betsey Johnson followed by Karen Millen... Hope that helps!
