That's a beautiful story. You've been so strong and brave this past year. I know with all your experiences that you came out for the better. I am also a firm believer in karma. I just know that you will get all the happiness you deserve.
I hope you and your son have a wonderful Christmas.
I'm glad I'm at home and not at the office b/c I started crying while reading your post. That is so wonderful that you and your son are having a good Christmas! You very much deserve it after all that you have been through. Have a Happy Holiday, leah leanna!!!
I cried at work when I read this...I am so happy that you two are being watched over and taken care of. You really deserve nothing less than the best. Here's to a great end of the the year and restored faith in people!
I am soo soo happy for you! What a great story. You are an amazing person and mother and I just know this is the beginning of many wonderful things in your future!
That is so touching. I'm totally tearing up at work.
It's also very heartwarming to be reminded that there are people out there who care. Don't be embarrassed - I also believe what goes around comes around. I'm sorry you had to go through all that though. Things will get better very soon - they always do!
I'm so happy for both of you. You definitely deserve a few nice surprises for a change. And I know you'll be fine because you're such an amazing woman! Merry Christmas!
LeahLeanna, I don't even know you outside of ST, but I think you are a truly amazing woman--for everything that you and your son have gone through, you stay strong. Have a Merry Christmas!
I'm really really glad that things are looking up for you but it honestly breaks my heart that you're not getting any help from your son's father. I worked at a family law firm before, and at my county court house in the family division, and I really hope you will look into some kind of legal action. I'm sure it depends what state you live in, but if your husband asked you not to work, you absolutely qualify for alimony on top of child support. Since your husband seems unlikely to pay, you can easily have it done through probation where it will automatically be taken out of his paycheck and sent to you. I'm so glad that things are working out, but really, you just deserve to know that it will work out instead of having to worry about it! You don't even have to go to a lawyer, you can go to a courthouse and talk to someone there for free and even file the paperwork yourself which will be much less expensive. Please don't allow him to be as selfish as he has been. I really hope everything continues to be good for you! Happy Holidays!

Agreed and I know that some places will help with legal assistance for those who can't pay. I think there is a website you can go to. I wish I could remember what it was. Anyway, I would contact a womens shelter and ask if they know who you could contact if you are not getting paid child support and cannot afford to take him to court.

I'm sorry things haven't been great for you and your son but I'm so glad things are going to go up because you know it's gonna go up! Your story made my chest feel tight and I wanted to cry too!
Because of you, I'm definitely going to try and "adopt" a kid this Christmas. I'm so fortunate and I don't even know it and I'm going to help those who deserved to be treated to this Christmas. Thank you!!
