NYC girls - Meatpacking shopping/Lucky mag questions
Permalink Closed

Does anyone have any recommendations for stores in the Meatpacking District or the surrounding area (Chelsea or W. Village)? So far my list is:

Stella McCartney
Alexander McQueen
Jeffrey
Lucy Barnes
Boucher
Yigal Azrouel
Carlos Miele
Scoop
Girlshop
DDCLab
Bodum
Destination
12 Little West 12th Street

Does anyone remember which issue of Lucky had the Meatpacking guide?

Also a few months ago Lucky had a housewares spread that featured these bizarre plates or bowls that has a picture of something kind of creepy in the bottom. Maybe a spider? I don't remember much except they were black and white and they had a weird image and I'm pretty sure the store was listed a few pages later and it is in the Meatpacking District. Does anyone have an idea of what store it could be? I think it was just a housewares store and it seemed like it had lots of unusual things. Could have carried jewelry as well.

Ta-Dah! I am not in NYC but I *am* a bit behind on purging my mags, LOL.

The issue you want is September, with Rachel Bilson on the cover.

p. 68 has the spider plate. Here's the info: Double spiderweb 5 3/4" plate, $48, John Derian Company. 212.677.3917

Also the meatpacking (NYC in general) guide is in the back of that issue, p. 339

lynnie - thanks so much, I wound up searching for Meatpacking found it. I added all those stores to my list. Desination was the one you loved. And you're right, John Derian isn't in the Meatpacking District. I think I got confused since that guide was in the same issue.
