new and surprisingly successful eBay tactic...
Permalink Closed

I lost 2 auctions I *really* wanted to win last week. I was so desperate I sent polite notes to the winners apologizing for contacting them but letting them know I'd like to buy the items if they didn't fit/work out. Well guess what? Both buyers contacted me and now I have a dress and a skirt I thought I'd lost, and for less than I would have paid had I outbid the winners. The more I think about this the more it seems like a good idea - SO much of what gets bought on eBay ends up not working for whatever reason.

Oh, I got them both to set up BIN auctions for me, so it was all above board.

As a seller I'd love this. So many people flake out - this gives you the option to dismiss that buyer quickly instead of going through the 60 day process to try to turn them in, etc. So good for you!
