how big is your wallet?
Permalink Closed

i had a guy sized wallet (maybe 4" square) but now i think i'm gonna start using one that is more checkbook shaped.  i've noticed some of those posted before (the prada ones, kate spade, etc) so is this pretty standard sized?  its my first time using one and it feels huge, haha.  just wanna make sure i'll get used to it.

I used to carry a checkbook-sized one, but it is a pain in the butt to fit in some fo my smaller purses. Now I carry a Coach one that's the smallest size they offer (a French wallet)...I think this is a very good size and helps keep clutter to a minimum.

Here's a pic of the wallet style I carry (mine is apple green and the buckle is different)

I use a Hobo International clutch/wallet that way if I don't want to lug my big bag in a store or restaurant, I can just grab it instead.

(Not my pics, got them on ebay)

I got mine on ebay for like $50, but they sell them on Zappos, Nordstrom's and at Anthro.  Also, Mason's carries them (that's were I first seen them, when I worked there).

lilykind- i had one about that size but it was getting stuffed with receipts from work...it was a hobo one and i love it.  grr.

so now i bought this one:

simona wallet

its really cute and fits all my cards (subway, ccs (i have a ton with my bank cards too), ids...)  the leather is buttery and nice.  i guess i could carry it as a clutch but that makes me very nervous- i'm scared i'd set it down and forget.  i'm not good with clutches, and a wallet as a clutch makes me even nervous- no protective purse shell to hide inside of.

This is my wallet. It is little, but I don't have much to carry, so I like it.

I have a red leather Coach wallet that I've had for a few years now and I LOVE it.  They don't carry it anymore--it's a bi-fold wallet with a zippered compartment in the back for change and it snaps shut.  It's fantastic.  I think whether you want a checkbook size wallet or not is just a matter of personal preference.

I have this in silver and I love it. For some reason it never occurred to me to use it as a wallet. Does it get banged up or anything inside your bag?

I have this hype wallet (mine is black). I like it because it's medium-sized, but it's sort of fat.

No, the bottom corners (where it folds) are wearing a little, but I think that is just from regular use.  Although I don't really have anything in my purse that would bang it up.  My keys go in the zipper compartment, so it's safe from those.

hmmm, maybe I will try this. My other wallet is so chubby, it barely fits in some of my smaller bags!

Small.  Just big enough to hold necessary cards, coins, and bills.

I have this one too.  Well it is brown nubuck or something on the outside and light blue on the inside.  I've had it for 3-4 years I think.  I keep the basic cards (DL, CCs, insurance) and bills in it, but I keep it inside a navy leather Coach wristlet where my change and ridiculous amount of discount cards go.  I just grab the wristlet if I don't want to take my whole purse.  The only essential that I can't fit in there is chapstick.

I have a clutch wallet as well.

Mine is similar to this one, except it's a bit bigger and is bright pink croc (by Abas).

I had a really old random-surfer-brand wallet that I recently replaced with a more sophisticated checkbook style. I love my wallet, and I don't have a problem fitting it in my purses because I don't have any really small purses Here's a pic, the dimensions are 7.75" x 3.75":
(I got it in dark brown with the light blue trim, on the far right)

Mine is by Isabella Fiore. It's the Carnaby design from a few years ago. This is the purse in the same print.

Since I can't find an picture of my actual wallet, it's about the size of this other Fiore wallet.

I just went from a smaller sized wallet to a checkbook sized one. I'm glad I did, it gives me room for coupons, and it actually takes up less room in my handbags, even though it's longer.

Cole Haan, as seen in the "weekend shopping" post.

I have a Mango wallet I bought in England for the large coin snap on the back which was handy because the lowest note in England is 5 pounds and I always had tons of change.

However its starting to fall apart now, so I'm thinking about getting a longer wallet to accommodate all the extra things I carry around now (like coupons). I normally just put cash, ID and an emergency card into my smaller bags, which I mostly use going out at night.
