Sorry this is so long, but I feel the need to vent...

I've been seeing A. for over a month now, and when we first started dating, I told him I'd heard he was kind of a player.  He said not at all, and pointed out all sorts of proof he wasn't (for example, he doesn't have any ex-girlfriends hanging around, he's never dated anyone one his dance team, etc), but because of the way he dances (yes, another salsa dancer), I still didn't fully trust him.  I've been working on that, because he's lots of fun to be with, very intelligent, and seems to be a mostly great guy.  BUT every time we go dancing, it just destroys all the trust again.  He dances very up close and personal with girls, and when he was trying to "win" me over he was always kissing my cheek or stuff like that.  Well, I had asked him about that, and he said he only did that with me/with girls he was interested in.  I watched him like a hawk when we were at the same clubs, and even though he still dances very sexually, he never crossed the line.  So fast forward to last night...I saw him dancing with a girl, and doing the kissy thing!  Right in front of me too.  We're not girlfriend/boyfriend, but still, am I wrong in thinking that he still shouldn't do that in front of me?  Especially since we'd been out together all day before that...  This just makes me feel like I'm right to not trust guys...

So boy #2...I'm not dating him, but he is interested in me, and has been very up front about it.  I, in return, told him honestly that I was dating someone else, and I don't like to date more than one person.  He seemed okay with that, and wanted to be friends.  We hung out for the first time in a long time last night at dancing, and had tons of fun.  He's a lot of fun to talk to, and seems like a sweet guy.  I was probably flirting a bit too, after dealing with the stuff with A., but still, it's not excuse for what happened later...  So boy #2 walks me back to my car, like the little gentleman he is, and asks me if I can give him a ride to his.  I'd already given him a hug goodbye, so I didn't expect him to lean in for a kiss on the cheek when we get to his car.  At least I thought he was going for the cheek (the European cheek kiss is very common in salsa)!  No, he goes for my mouth, and actually tries to kind of forcefully turn my head when I turned away.  I was surprised that he tried this, because the last time I'd seen him I had explained I could only be friends.

Why do boys have to suck so much?  I know there have to be one or two good ones left out there, but I'm getting pretty fed up.  I seriously felt like crying from frustration last night.

IMO - Both boys are immediately disqualified from any further relations with you due to said behavior.  End of story.

Those are a couple of stinkers, gingembre!  What happened to the French guy?  Or is he salsa-ass numero uno?

That sucks.  Both are not cool, but Ass #1 seems to be a bit worse.  In my experience, if you don't feel like you should trust a guy, you shouldn't.  Just go with your gut.  It's pretty right on most of the time.

Thanks girls...  I keep telling myself I'm going to swear off guys for a while, but then a new, very persistent one comes along...

French boy was nice enough, but we just didn't have enough in common.  It was fun to be able to speak French for a while though.

I think persistent generally equals player. This used to happen to me all the time, too. I started laughing them off, and sometimes letting them buy me a beer or two, and they've been much easier to handle then when I took them seriously. No more of that "but he seemed so into me and now he won't call..." thing. And are you sure you don't want to see more than one guy at once? It really helps keep them in perspective for me...

Oh, and in the boys suck category, let me just add that my date on Saturday, who he was careful to point out was homecoming king and lettered in three sports in high school, then vice president of his frat in college, might actually have been retarded. (With all due respect to the developmentally disabled). He told me "let me show you a picture of my ex girlfriend..." and took a picture of BRITTANY SPEARS OUT OF HIS WALLET! Then he went into that routine from Airplane "Ever been in a Turkish prison..." Um, no. Ever watched a girl run away from you as fast as she can? Of course you have... Scariest part? He's a high school creative writing teacher. I can only hope it was some sort of dare.

Bwahahahaha!!!! That's the most hilarious thing I've heard all week! How did the date end? Did you shake hands or awkwardly hug? Did he pay for you multiple drinks (I'm assuming of course because for me, there would have been many drinks to make it through the date).

dizzy you seriously need to write a book... advice mingled with horror stories from the dating trenches. or a screenplay. you are too sassy and funny to waste yourself on law school... you should be the next oprah! that story is brilliant and hilarious.
