Gingerbread house? or....
Permalink Closed

This is my FIRST gingerbread house attempt and I kind of want to make something cool...and I found this picture which inspired me to make a NYC Bloomingdales replica.

Or am I being too ambitious and I should stick to a simpler house for the first attempt?  Any tips and tricks would be much appreciated too.

Well, if you are going to get some kind of a kit, I would try it.  The first time I attempted a gingerbread house I had no kit, I had pms, and whatever frosting I chose to use as glue DID not work out.  I ended up crying and cursing and throwing it in the garbage.  It was not good ol' holiday fun.  I have always wanted to try again with a kit, but I am scurrrd .  Good luck and post pics of whatever you make.

making the house part doesnt seem hard- just all the decorations/icing.  i'd use a kit though- you're not baking the gingerbread from scratch, are you?
