I have not posted in so long, but am finally settled for the moment. For those who may remember me, I was earning my doctorate in Library Science and someone form the old FH days.
I got my degree and also got invoved with several other pet projects. I am still working in the public library I worked in but also now teaching at a local University; a course in Ethics and Library Science (pertaining to the Patriot's Act).
Hubby, my daughter and I also travelled to Italy and spent quite a bit of time there as well as Portugal where hubby was born. We just closed on a property in Sicily, which is where I was born so we are excited. Hubby is looking into employment at the University of Palermo as a visiting prof. so that is exciting.
Other then that news, I am reading and catching up and apologize for falling off the face of the planet. Life gets overwhelming and in the way at times.
Ally!!!! I've missed you. It's so exciting that you are teaching. Every once in a while I think of going to get my PhD and trying to teach at some point. And the house in Sicily is so exciting! I'm dying to visit there but I promised my mom I wouldn't go alone
CC, Sicily has a bad reputation but we are in Ficuzza just outside of Palermo where I was born. Marsala is nearby as well as other cities. It's beautiful there and I miss it.
So how are you? Are you still a legal librarian? Do you ever get to Princeton? I know who said you visited before?
I'm teaching at Princeton right now, totally aside Library School, but this course is on Ethics and the Patriot Act and its fun.
Gosh I missed you and everyone. Hey, I saw Gang of 4, New Order and Echo and the Bunnymen in my absence.
Glad you are doing well - it sounds like you've got a lot of changes going on in your life right now. Always glad to see you around when you have time .

Ally, I think I'd probably be fine in Sicily alone but we have a family friend whose daughter went to a small Sicilian town by herself and was horribly harrassed and some guy tried to pull her into his car. Could have happened anywhere but it freaked my mom out and she made me promise to wait until I have an experienced travel partner or decide to go on a tour.
I'm still a legal librarian although lately I've been feeling kind of restless and burnt out (I've been there for 5.5 years and it's the only job I've had since graduating from college) so I've started to think about other options for further down the road. Your class sounds so interesting! My boyfriend is going to be visiting his parents in Princeton starting tomorrow so hopefully I'll make it out there at some point in the next few weeks but it's such a crazy time of year that who knows if I'll have time. I'll let you know if I go out there for a day.
I'm jealous that you saw all those great bands. I was just listening to the Bunnymen yesterday!
Thanks everyone. I should be able to post more as the semester just ended and grading has been unbelievable! I am just glad its over till January and to be back to a regular routine.
Anyway I missed everyone and CC let me know if you visit BF's family in Princeton so we can get together.
