i alternate between two different ones, and i'm getting so bored with them. looking for new ideas. please share what you use. thanks.
here are mine:
old-skool original kate spade bag (mine is brown), which is probably totally out of style, but exactly the perfect size to fit underneath the seat in front of me.
and this oversized coach duffel, but mine is a whiskey brown leather:
This is kinda embarrasing because my choices are pretty lame.
My trusty Herve Chapelier tote that looks like this. I like it because it also doubles as a beach bag.
My beloved LL Bean backpack in lime. I also carry this everyday to class. I like it because it holds a ton and it's easy to maneuver my huge suitcases with this versus shoulder bag. And to keep it old school like every backpack I've had since first grade, it has SFC on it.
I'm a little ashamed, but I use a Hello Kitty backpack. I'm with sfclinevandy - it holds tons of stuff. I am on the hunt for the perfect carry on that I can use & not need a check on bag, but I haven't found it yet.

I bought a pink with black strap RL bag at ROSS a couple years ago to wear as a school bag. It was only $15.00, but I carry it now at school, anytime i travel, or as a weekend type bag.
I also use my old Herve Chapelier (in the same colors as the one that SFC posted, actually). It's completely worn out and kinda dingy but it holds an amazing amount of my crap and it's the perfect size for under my seat. And like SFC said, it's the perfect beach bag for those kind of vacations.
I think this one is adorable - a little too big for my tastes, but so cute:
Classy. But I usually have my laptop, US Weekly, a text book cause I lie to myself that I will read on the plane, random stuff that wouldn't fit in my bag like shampoo or something...
I use a big black Jansport backpack with a pocket for my laptop. It holds a lot and is easy to carry, even though I do end up looking like the perpetual student....
I have my black rolling suitcase that I carry my clothes in and I usually use my Swiss Army backpack if I'm going to be doing a lot of shopping on the trip so I can bring stuff back with me. If I'm not, I use my brown Monsac bag because it holds everything I need and has room for a magazine. The backpack isn't the most stylish thing to use, but it works and when I'm travelling, all I really care about is being able to get the stuff I need on board and being comfortable.
If I don't check my suitcase I bring one of my Coach Hamptons as a carry on they're the large size and big enough for a book, mags, waterbottle, makeup, etc but not too big when you're dragging a suitcase behind you too. If I overpack and check my bag I have a Franco Sarto duffle that will fit a lot more that I can bring on.
I use a black bag from Kenneth Cole Reaction. It's not sexy - looks like Eurodaisy's except larger and not nearly as cute - but it holds everything I don't want to leave in my suitcase. We have two of these - one for DH and one for me. Best of all, they cost about $45 each, several years ago, and they still look brand new.

I will use either my Coach signature tote for trips if I check a larger luggage. On short business trips I got a rolling luggage carry-on by Olympia for $50 at Ross (i think). I couldn't find a picture of it but I am very impressed with it so far (I've used it 3x's). It is expandable, has a very nice tonal stripe fine deier fabric, two very roomy exterior pockets, and even a water bottle holder (which you can unzip to use or zip to keep smooth - perfect for when you are running through the airport). It also has tons of nice details (fully lined, removable pouches, garment bag) inside and very sturdy.
I usually only use my black Samsonite carry-on suitcase and a big purse or Herve Chapelier tote but if I have lots and I know I'm going to check a bag then I use this LL Bean tote in pink with my initials on it.
