I think I need some inspiration

(Let me preface this by saying that I feel like I should catch up on all the posts I've been missing before I start a new one, but here goes, anyway)

So I love my new school... my classes are interesting and challenging but not overwelming. I wouldn't say that I look forward to going every morning (I mean, who would want to go to school at 7:30am when they could be sleeping all nice and cozy in bed? ), but I sure don't mind it. I usually take pride in what I wear, because I think it's important-- but I can't bring myself to get dressed in the morning when I have classes. I wake up, sit around for a little while, take a shower, and throw on my new "uniform": a sweatshirt, jeans, and Uggs. I guess I'm officially a college girl, right ? I feel so self-concious, but I just don't do anything about it. On the other hand, when I have to go anywhere else but school, I have no problems getting ready. I LOVE to get dressed up and look pulled together (of course I try to look pulled together when I dress casual, too ), but I just can't get myself to care about how I look at school... and I really want to. I feel that since I don't care how I look at school, some people think that I don't care to be there. That couldn't be further from the truth, though.

What the heck is wrong with me??? Am I just being lazy?

Well, when I was in school oh so long ago I went to school half a day & to work half the day, so i always had to be dressed. Walking long distances in between classes in ''cute" clothes is just overrated as far as I'm concerned. I say be comfy.

If you want to look a little cuter, could you do comfy jeans & tshirts / cardis / flats or your uggs? Visit the thread style section - several girls there do cute casual really well. If you pre-plan a few outfits or types of outfits that are comfy then you can just throw them on - it won't take you forever to get dressed. I guess for me that's the hardest part. If I have no time I throw on whatever is convenient & it sounds like for you that's sweats.

JMO too but I don't think your appearance in class is any reflection on your interest level. As a matter of fact, most of the girls that I went to school with that were always dressed to a "t" were more worried about looking cute for class than actual class, ya know?

HTH some.

Ok, you just made me feel so much better...

I've tried the whole planning of the outfits thing, but it doesn't work. I don't know what my problem is; I'll have a nice cute, comfy outfit all planned out to wear, but when I go to get dressed I'll just throw on a sweatshirt instead. I mean, it takes just as much time to put on a tee and a cardi as it does to put on a tee and a hoodie, no?

Maybe next quarter (we don't do semesters) I'll be better... I have later classes so maybe I won't be so lazy.

Thanks for making me feel better, laken !

I totally agree - college is supposed to be a casual scene.  My sister wears freaking pajama pants to class (Iowa State)!  I think you can look super casual-cute i.e. Carries or Jlear (check out her threadstyle with her Iowa t-shirt outfit).
