YAY! you northern ladies will have to excuse me - I've lived in Louisiana my whole life so I've seen snow all of ONCE. Last year it snowed a few inches at christmas but I was at home, so I missed it.
I just looked out & flurries are everywhere! So excited.....{off to put on jacket & go out in it}

Lucky you! our company shipping warehouse is located in Dallas & they just called me to tell me they're shutting down early & going home! It never snows in LA
It snows soap bubbles at the Grove! Does that count?
Laken...you are so lucky! Snow is awesome (as long as you don't lose electricity or anything)! I haven't seen snow in nearly three years and I just want to see it again. I might go home for Christmas (NYC and PA) and hope for the best. hehehe.
Yeah, I have a friend in Dallas too, told me it was snow flurries down there; it's suppose to get pretty bad here (Austin) later on this afternoon, so we too may be shutting down early! I haven't seen any snow here in a few years - it was great! LOL

It's like 23, feels like 14, so it did stick. But it stopped quickly - it's supposed to get worse as the day progresses. I took my kitties out in it & they didn't think it was too neat, & ran back in. Funny though.

I know where you are coming from laken 1, when we got snow last christmas eve and it stayed for a couple days this texas girl was in the snow playing, i only have seen snow twice in my life. But I know my brother and his wife wife has already saw it in Pa , they are sick of it.
you better keep that for yourself up in Dallas!!! I don't want to see any of that here in Houston. I am freezing but I thought it was because I'm sick. Maybe I should turn on the heater here.

Oh, I'm so excited!! Do you think it will snow here, too? (Austin)

Totally off topic, but where in Louisiana did you live? I was born and raised in Arkansas (also have only seen snow once) but I've lived in Shreveport for about 3 years now.

I lived in Baton rouge for 15 years, but I'm from Ponchatoula / Hammond area.
It stopped even flurry-ing. BOO HISS! I'm supposed to have my knitting group tonight & 3 of them are from Chicago & laughed at me because I cancelled due to snow. But people here can't drive. If it stays like it is though I guess I'll go.

How fun!!! I love getting snow--it's so rare that it's a treat every time it happens. People here can't drive in it either. Last year it snowed less than an inch and it took me three hours to get home (it's a 20 min. commute normally).

No , no! I want the snow to come! Last year I missed the snow, because I was in Austin with my then bf. I got to feel the snow when I pulled down the window on the way back to Houston.
how long does snow stay around in dallas? long enough to go sledding? or to play? here in philadelphia we are looking at our third! snowfall this season to come tomorow. this is not supposed to happen this early! no more snow! snow equals ice equals no cute shoes that i fall down in equals yucky mountain boots.
on a side note....there's a couple of cali girls in my grad program, they haven't ever seen snow. i hadn't realized till now what that must be like. they cracked me up though...all running around looking for winter coats and scarves....and it wasn't even that cold yet!

Umm, i've never seen a sled unless it was on tv or in the santa display at the mall. so no, it doesn't really stay around. This is only my 2nd year in dallas - last year it snowed a few inches & stayed around for 3 or 4 days, but that's about it. and what we ended up with last night didn't even really cover our yard. It was just enough to ice over the roads & sidewalks & such.
On a side note, my DH hit an ice patch on the way home & ended up with a 9 inch gash in his wheel - didn't really damage his car & he luckily didn't hit anyone, but it will be about $300 (after the $1100 on my car last week) UGH. At least he's ok though.

Oh laken1, i'm so glad your hubby is okay. that bites that there was damage, but it could have been worse. My BF works off of EI-30 and when we saw 3 or 4 accidents within 3 miles. it was crazy. I think that's what people freak out about most -- how to drive in the ice. We have so many damn bridges here. Crazy that it's warming up again this weekend and even crazier that last Sat., it was 91 degrees!!! I've lived in Dallas for 10 years now and it has only snowed a few times where the snow actually stuck around for a few days. Three years ago, it snowed especially hard. It was beautiful.

I KNOW! I have the coolest picture - I may send it to the news channel that is running photos. Our neighbor's tree shed nearly every single GREEN leaf into my driveway - the leaves weren't even brown yet since we haven't had any kind of freeze yet, so all of those green leaves were all over the ground. It was bizarre.
